Next Gadget for Rewarding One-self

, posted: 14-Sep-2006 22:03

Soon I will need to decide what new gadget i may be getting in a small reward for the progress of the year so far.

So far I have gotten suggestions and recommendation to get a Core Duo/Core 2 Duo laptop, and I have nailed down to two models that I would like pending the budget side (either HP dv6030tx or HP dv9020tx).

However, now is a funny period to decide on which laptop to go for especially in short few months, Windows Vista will be out soon, and I don't think any O (read the entire post)...

Need Your Help

Alright, I need your help with this one.

I have been using Compaq X1030AP for nearly 2 years, and I got it on lease. In a month time (14th October) my lease will mature and I was given few options to decide as to what I would do with my lease.

The end of term options are:
Upgrade to new equipment with a new agreement.Offer to purchase some or all of the old equipment at fair market value (price which the finance company would expect to receive in the used market at tim (read the entire post)...

Microsoft in Christchurch

, posted: 12-Sep-2006 16:26

From today's The Press paper in the section C - BusinessDay, there's a short article on about Microsoft is opening its first office in Christchurch. Microsoft NZ has approved a plan to open an office in the city by the end of the year.

I think this is great for Christchurch/Canterbury's business, and seeing that Microsoft NZ has a few corporate clients in this region (Canterbury District Health Board, Christchurch City Council, Otago University) as well as a few technology (read the entire post)...

Goodbye Telecom, Hello TelstraClear (A step closer)

, posted: 12-Sep-2006 15:39

From my previous blog [Goodbye Telecom, Hello TelstraClear (soon)], I am ready to make a move from Telecom to TelstraClear.

Today, I called up TelstraClear to check with the progress and see how far my application has gone. Surprisingly, my application has not been lodged but the lady at the other end of the phone is happy to sign me up on the spot with credit goes to the door-to-door salesperson.

So what am I getting? Well as most of you already know, I'm an existing T (read the entire post)...

HTC Universal soon be evolved to "Omni"

, posted: 12-Sep-2006 12:26

From a few other techsites that I frequently visit, made mention of the HTC Universal replacement. From what the rumour mills produce, it seems like it will be a "thinner" version of HTC Universal, with HSDPA and VGA, with WM5 AKU3 (at least, which has projector output option).

This sounds great, hope the factual news be available soon, and send me through another round of everlasting battle to get my smartphone/umpc/ux/pocketpc replacement battle.

Feel free to have a read (read the entire post)...

Goodbye Telecom, Hello TelstraClear (soon)

, posted: 5-Sep-2006 16:32

I have heard of a good news that will help me moving my last leg towards TelstraClear to get one-stop service for Phone-Internet-Television-Mobile. Yesterday I was visited by a TelstraClear door-to-door sales person and was verbally confirmed by him that I can retain my Telecom number while using TelstraClear's 9xxxxxx number. I was a bit skeptical about this but later the night, I called up TelstraClear to get an official confirmation from them and true enough, you can now keep Telecom' (read the entire post)...

My take on Vista Pre-RC1

, posted: 3-Sep-2006 21:08

Alright, I managed to squeeze into the 100,000 limit on public pre-rc1 download, and this was after the announcement of 100,000 limit and pre-rc1 download is closed.
I got it installed lastnight, installation went well however I do not feel that the installation is anywhere faster than what many has said. I installed it into my "everyday" machine (HP/Compaq Presario x1030AP).With the previous Beta2, I had difficulty to get it installed correctly with x1030AP (see my posts and suggested fixe (read the entire post)...

Good Recovery II

, posted: 31-Aug-2006 13:45

Following the previous episode of "Good Recovery" regarding TelstraClear's customer service with my faulty Vodafone Mobile Connect card, I finally received a new VMC card from Teresa (sincere thanks towards your great customer service).

I have returned the VMC card which TCL loaned to me during the "blackout" period to cover my paid service. TCL also included the courier back for me to return it in (Excellent!).

Although HSDPA is on the brim of launching soon, however m (read the entire post)...
