Fly for $39 with Pacific Blue...

, posted: 23-Aug-2007 10:57

Just read this from Stuff, looks like the special promotion sale for Pacific Blue is very very competitive against Air NZ, at $39 each way. Though Pacific Blue will be flying the main trunk (AKL-WGN, AKL-CHC and WGN-CHC) for now...

Definitely is a good time to fly for a visit, perhaps should the Geekzone 07 be held around November then? :-D (read the entire post)...

[Update] MS Office Outlook Connector beta for WLHotmail

, posted: 23-Aug-2007 10:20

Seems like Microsoft has return the Outlook Connector for Windows Live Hotmail back as free tool. Years ago, Outlook Connector was free to all user, and was available from Outlook 97, 2000, 2002. Then Microsoft decided to change that and made it available to Hotmail Plus and MSN8 subscribers. Luckily those old/long-time Hotmail users were able to keep using it without difficulty, but all new Hotmail users/accounts created after 2003 were not able to use this feature.

Greedo or Han Solo?

Another long debate surrounding the msytery of "Who shot first?"

In the Star Wars IV: A New Hope... in the cantina, a bounty hunter was hunted by another fellow bounty hunter for the price to claim on his head... Sitting quietly in the corner of the dark, low-light bar... unmoved and unintimitade... with the sound of laser rifle fired... so who shot first?

What's your view on this mystery? (read the entire post)...

Replicant or Human?

, posted: 17-Aug-2007 16:03

I've always been a fan of the movie Blade Runner, and when I found out the "Final Cut" is soon to be available at the end of the year, with few versions to choose from - 2-discs, 4-disc collector, and 5-disc ultimate collector.

However, some said, in the end of the Director's Cut, Deckard's character was seen leaning toward the evidence that he is a replicant... however I couldn't tell even today as it is confusing enough...

One thing though... I am looking forward to t (read the entire post)...

Spock.com

I heard about this yesterday and just today a colleague of mine was searching on it. So naturally, it got me curious, I went and did a search on my name. Bizarrely enough, I spotted my name, first on the list!

It seems like it is connected through the use of LinkedIn, Friendster, MySpace (and all those social-network websites) to farm its connection and search.

I decided to join up with it and link it to my LinkedIn.

I too have some invites to send out, so (read the entire post)...

Just one number... please!

, posted: 3-Jul-2007 12:20

Today I decided to check with TelstraClear on getting my old Telecom number properly ported over to TCL's InHome phone service after I have learned that one can have the Telecom number fully ported to different carrier without having to redirect/forward the calls to new carrier's number.

A bit of the history here, back in October, I finally decided to take up the TCL's triple service by ditching my Telecom phone service for TCL's InHome phone service. The decision was made after a v (read the entire post)...

Vista on TabletKiosk eo i7210

, posted: 8-Jun-2007 08:55

Right... many weeks have passed and after a bit of trouble with my UMPC (it broke but repaired now...), I finally had the time to use it again. And life couldn't be better this week when I noticed TabletKiosk has released the beta BIOS and beta Vista drivers. *mysteriously the BIOS has gone 404.

So I tried (once again) to see how useful i7210 can be with Vista installed. As with many other UMPC users, good 80% of us have our UMPC preinstalled with Windows XP Pro with Tablet PC and T (read the entire post)...

Free Hugs Campaign

, posted: 18-May-2007 09:48

Just last night when I was browsing YouTube for fun video clips and I came across this - Juan Mann, a man whos sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up their lives. This is how Free Hugs Campaign started.

It is such a joy-joy movement that I feel passionate to share with everyone here, and I too envision to start a "Free Hugs" in Christchurch. When and where, I have not decided yet, but rest assured it will be soon.

If you are interested in joinin (read the entire post)...

Vodafone flagship store in Chch

, posted: 17-May-2007 22:27

Vodafone store at Colombo St in Christchurch is undergoing a renovation since late April. Just today, as I walked past the front of the store, I stole a peek at the inside and it is looking very much like the Wellington's flagship store at lambton Quay.

Oh no! MY UMPC IS DEAD!

, posted: 14-May-2007 10:27

Just this morning, when I tried to turn on my eo i7210 and wake it up from its suspsension. It won't boot, there was no usual hard drive whirling boot up sound, and there's this eerie faint fan sound which never was the case when booting up... and there's not boot up screen or anything being displayed on the screen at all!!!

The worst had happened! WHAT CAN I DO?! :-( I need to salvage my data off from it, sadly the last backup was about a month ago! EEK! (read the entire post)...
