Microsoft announced oFone

, posted: 4-May-2007 15:59

I just came across this announcement while browsing a tech news site, and sounds pretty trippy.

Microsoft announced oFone, sounds like Microsoft's take-on of Apple's iPhone. The design is pretty radical, definitely worth a quick look. (read the entire post)...

My SBS2003/Exchange 2003 is working "well" again

, posted: 19-Apr-2007 09:42

After nearly a month worth of mysterious fit that my SBS 2003 Exchange service failed to classify junk/UCE spams, and last night, with a big bite of bullet, I decided to reinstall several SBS components to help find the problem.

Reinstalling Exchange component, remove IMF v1/v2 via registry, reinstall Exchange SP2, and reinstall R2 technology for SBS, and a bit of fiddle, trying to sort of the bugger 0x85010004 Exchange ActiveSync problem between WM5 and Exchange server... in the en (read the entire post)...

Most of us have heard of or even fanatic about Transformers, the cartoon about the advanced robots that can transform from android form to vehicles, dinasours, insects, object etc.

Now, we have new "generation" of Transformers that can transform from the everyday appliances or objects to an android.

Check them all out. (read the entire post)...

Armageddon 2007 in Christchurch

, posted: 16-Apr-2007 11:27

Just over the weekend, I went to the first-time-ever in Christchurch Armageddon 2007 event. Those that in Auckland or in the circle might already know what this is. For those others, this is an event that should not be missed by any Sci-Fi/Comics/Manga fans. Check out http://www.pulpexpo.com/.

It was a great day, and lots of great collectibles to snap up (if you got a big fat wallet or credit card)... for us, we only able to get 5 seasons of Star Trek Voyager DVD box set (1, 3, 4, 5 (read the entire post)...

OCC + Intel Xeon + UMPC = Biker Geek's Fantasy!

, posted: 5-Apr-2007 11:25

If you're an American Chopper fan... a fan of Orange County Chopper... fan of the Teutuls... a techgadget geek... then you must make sure you watch the upcoming episodes of American Chopper, as Intel has approach OCC to build a themed bike to showcase Intel's Xeon processor debut.

From the link (Engadget: Orange County Choppers builds Intel a Xeon-powered bike), it seems like it will be a gadget-galored chopper with UMPC, GPS, back-view cameras and not to leave out... (read the entire post)...

DeepFish: Image-based Web Browsing

, posted: 30-Mar-2007 10:17

Microsoft's Lab has just recently announced their new browser development (DeepFish) which said to bring the desktop experience to the mobile devices. There's a quick video review by Mauricio.

This idea may not be new as it seems like BitStream's ThunderHawk has achieved this for quite sometimes (Thanks to Juha for pointing this out), and also Apple's "iPhone" said to bring Safari to its upcoming mobile device with the desktop browsing experience too.

Opera has been doi (read the entire post)...

The disappointing PAL PS3's backward compatibility

, posted: 15-Mar-2007 12:39

From my previous post about PAL PS3 ("Pay more, wait longer, and get less (for PS3)"), one of the thing I mentioned is the disappearance of the hardware chip for PS2 backward compatibility playback, instead Sony opted to safe $27 in the production cost, and utilise the emulation. In the process of doing that, it cuts down the 100% backward compatibility to real low. I am no against of software emulation for PS2, as the Cell CPU is quite power and capable, however there's always risk and unwanted (read the entire post)...

Wii: Sonic and the Secret Rings (Quick-look)

, posted: 15-Mar-2007 11:00

Just got this game out on rental for the weekend and I have always been a Sonic's fan since its Sega days. From the cover, it looks very much like the Sonic from post-Sega days, which was famous on Nintendo Gamecube, Sony PS2 and Xbox. In the past, I really dislike the 3D Sonic world style and it took away the classic side-scrolling/platform game-style.

However, with Sonic and the Secret Rings, it unified the 3D world and the ease of play style into a total Wii-experience, and it fi (read the entire post)...

1st March is the new New Year's Day

, posted: 1-Mar-2007 09:16

Happy New Year... (in the technology world!)

It seems like there are quite a few things made their changes just overnight and all happened on 1st of March 2007.

What have changed?
Sky reshuffled their channels into a more logical genre structure, and gives each genre a block of channels for future expansion. This also mean TelstraClear need to reflect the changes made by Sky as they supply the video feeds to TelstraClear's Saturn cable tv subscribers.Xtra finally (read the entire post)...
