Where do you get your games from?

, posted: 28-Feb-2007 09:40

Just over at The Consumerist, I read this article about "9 insider secrets from a retail video game salesman" and found that it's quite interesting with how Gamesman and EB stores are doing too in NZ. They push for membership/club. With EB, they do accept games-trade-in and 7 days trial/refund policy which is silly. It's good idea for those genuinely don't think the game is for them, however I have heard and seen some people abusing that policy by either, rush through the games to complete it in (read the entire post)...

HTML tags illustrated

, posted: 26-Feb-2007 17:03

For some people, it is harder to learn HTML tags without any pictorial illustration. Now that learning step will be much easier for them, and definitely be more fun to learn too... You could start create a collection of HTML tags illustration for the new-born babies as their "My First HTML" learning book. :-D

So check out Haha.nu's "HTML tags illustrated". (read the entire post)...

Let's do Picnik

, posted: 26-Feb-2007 16:56

There seems to be a surge of online tools and application to satisfy most of your productivity needs. I came across Gliffy.com a while ago, then over the weekend I found Picnik which is an online Flash-based photo editing tool.

Online photo editing made fun
With Picnik you can quickly edit all your online photos from one place. It's the easiest way on the Web to fix underexposed photos, remove red-eye, or apply effects to your photos.
It's fast, easy, and f (read the entire post)...

Stuff's staff technical knowledge

, posted: 26-Feb-2007 15:21

I am not too sure whether I should congratulate Stuff's staff for their good effort of able to pronounce SQL as "sequal" or to criticise their limited technical knowledge of what is an SQL server... Have a look at the screen capture of Stuff's news on "Hit enter to move to NZ" (at the tenth paragraph)...

Update:
It is my understanding that, we get people pronouncing SQL as ess-cue-el, or "sequel" but in this particular case, it is referring to a particular produc (read the entire post)...

Pay more, wait longer, and get less (for PS3)

, posted: 26-Feb-2007 10:05

Just over the weekend, more details have been revealed regarding European/PAL version of PS3. Essentially, European/PAL-regions have to suffer at least 3 months wait launch, get less than announced units during the launch, expect to pay more than the NTSC-A sibblings... and just as that weren't enough... European/PAL PS3-fans will have to endure less than delighted number of PS2 compatible titles. As it seems, Sony/SCEE decided to remove the PS2 hardware from the PS3 and solely relying on the so (read the entire post)...

Stage-right MyBlogLog!

, posted: 24-Feb-2007 15:57

From Juha's blog post, it seems like there's a few naughtiness for MyBlogLog... so I'm following the suit to remove it (MyBlogLog) from my blog, for not wanting any bad things to happen to it.

And beside, my blog page now render faster and no more hold up by unknown script :-) (read the entire post)...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Wii

, posted: 13-Feb-2007 10:49

Right! So who wouldn't want to be Spiderman? Or Captain America? or in fact any super heroes from the Marvel universe?

A week ago, I rented Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Wii, seeing that Wii itself is quite a fascinating gaming console. As anyone would know, it is not as grunty as Xbox 360 or PS3, however it has a unique gaming style to it. Wii truly is in a league of its own!

Anyhow, back to the game. I thought it may have special "moves" that are unique to Wii only. Th (read the entire post)...

Price of picking in-transition models

, posted: 13-Feb-2007 10:12

Windows Vista is here to stay... Newer and more affordable, better-spec'ed UMPCs are on the way. Windows Mobile 6 and WinMo6 Devices are announced recently in Barcelona at 3GSM... All the mentioned are new and shiny... but yet there are many people that recently upgraded or purchased some "in-transition" products which use the recently-replaced/superceded inner-core.

For the one like myself, I just got a new cellphone replacing my imate Smartphone2 from 2 years ago, in mid-November. (read the entire post)...

Vista! Vista!

, posted: 31-Jan-2007 19:25

So finally Vista is left out of the bag to the consumer... a few months after the corporates get their Vista back in November 2006.

There are a tonnes of reports, reviews and news covering Vista already, so I won't be addressing its launch here... Instead, I'm going to blog about how/what Vista is/seems to me.

I had my share of experience with Vista since its beta 2, rc1 and rc2 iteration. It performs great and has great potential for all existing system. Regardless whe (read the entire post)...
