Finally we Wii too

, posted: 28-Dec-2006 12:39

Let's Wii together! We finally joined the few thousands Wii players around the world by... unpacking our Wii which we bought on my birthday. Why taken this long to unpack it? Well... we've been busy for those weeks up until yesterday, with Ysabella, Christmas shopping and all... And since it didn't get opened on my birthday, I decided to wrap it up to put under the Christmas tree.

Opening it on Christmas day was without a bit of fun and giggles, since we've already knew what's been (read the entire post)...

New addition to the family

YAY! We have a new member in our family... well my sister's family actually.

On the 11th December 2006, I am an uncle (again, for the 3rd times!) to Ysabella. I won't go into too much details of how long/tall/heavy is she, but she's gorgeous, cute little angel and certainly brought great happiness to everyone around us.

She just had her first Christmas, with her grandparents came from Australia, as well as with us and my mother here. Ysabella is growing quickly and look (read the entire post)...

WM5 device as USB Wireless Modem

, posted: 28-Dec-2006 11:34

So you got Windows Mobile 5 devices and you want to use it as USB wireless modem for your laptop while on the move?

On the newer model (those that manufactured by HTC, most probably) have an applet call WModem. With that you can use your WM5 device as your wireless modem. To use it, you must make sure ActiveSync is not running in both WM5 and Windows PC.

To disable/close/quit ActiveSync on Windows PC:
Right-click on the taskbar and choose "Task Manager".Click on t (read the entire post)...

Hurdles for importing goods into NZ

, posted: 6-Dec-2006 11:47

Every good thing that came about usually have to go through some level of difficulty. Sometimes the difficulty can be really annoying and lengthy.

As mentioned in the previous blog entry ("My eo i7210 is coming!"), after weeks of patience wait I finally got the notice that the package is delivered and should be in the country in 2 days top. However what I did not expect was the lengthy process to clear through NZ Customs and the difficulty to get a progress feedback from FedEx and N (read the entire post)...

Just got a call from FedEx today to pay for my GST on the package that I ordered from Tegatech Australia at the end of October. After a patience weeks of waiting and a few hurdle to jump over... that's done and was informed that I can expect the package delivered later in the afternoon. Woohoo... Tonight I shall have my eo i7210 UMPC to play with!

Stay tuned in my blog and at Geekzone for my review on UMPC.

Update: It is DELIVERED!

TCL LightSpeed 40GB is 10Mbit/s at LAST!

, posted: 6-Dec-2006 11:29

Thanks to one of the outstanding TelstraClear staff for his time and effort to help sorting out the issue I had with the recent upgrade from HighSpeed 20GB to LightSpeed 40GB. Also many thanks to CJMChch for giving some direction, also the everyone who did the speed survey for comparing the kind of speed I should be expecting.

First off, the speed was lowered than expected just a day or two after the request for upgrade. This was fixed very quickly and the speed is back to as expect (read the entire post)...
