Samsung Electronics partners with Te Papa Bug Lab
Posted on 9-Dec-2016 11:03 | Tags Filed under: News

Samsung Electronics New Zealand is supporting Te Papa as the technology partner on blockbuster summer exhibition Bug Lab.

Bug Lab is a high impact, hands-on experience for the whole family. Visitors will enter a colourful, magical space, marvel at large- scale bug models, and explore hands-on science.

As technology partner, Samsung’s Smart Signage panels will help bring the genius of bugs to life. The exhibition uses over 60 of Samsung’s large format video and touchscreen panels, which will let visitors get hands on with in Bug Lab.

“We are delighted to partner with Samsung Electronics on our exhibition Bug Lab,” says Te Papa Chief Executive Rick Ellis.

“We know how important science and technology education is for New Zealand’s future, and by creating an interactive experience with Samsung’s panels, Bug Lab will help get young Kiwis excited about those subjects.

“Samsung has enabled Te Papa and Weta Workshop’s creative design teams to explore innovative solutions for this incredible exhibition,” Mr Ellis says.

Director of Marketing at Samsung New Zealand, Michael Cornwell, says the company is excited to be a part of this unique, world class exhibition developed by Te Papa and Weta Workshop; two of New Zealand’s most respected, innovative and creative organisations.

“We’re always excited by the possibilities Samsung technology can enable, so seeing our Smart Signage commercial panels used in such an innovative way is a proud moment for us.

“Te Papa and Weta Workshop have taken full advantage of the touch functionality panels, and have used this to offer a hands-on, interactive experience that will immerse visitors into the world of bugs,” Mr Cornwell says.

Bug Lab opens on 10 December 2016.
