Edifier Exclaim BT Connect review

These small speakers do pack a punch. Even though their main target segment is the computer media and gaming enthusiasts I found it usable in other situations as well.

First off you will notice the looks - the Edifier Exclaim BT design is nothing like traditional PC/laptop speakers. In fact it looks like something out of a sci-fi TV series. It looks good.

Operation is very simple: there's an on/off button, volume up and volume down. Nothing else. The power button is used to put the speakers in pairing mode as well.

The Edifier Exclaim BT Connect comes with a total of six speakers. The top of the units each houses two 1 1/2" midrange/tweeters and the bottom sports a 3" sub-woofer. Each speaker unit has its own internal amplifier with a total of 36 watts RMS to drive the speakers.

You can connect the Edifier Exclaim BT Connect using its 3.5mm AUX port or via Bluetooth. While being touted as a gaming/desktop speakers I had no problem using it with an Amazon Fire TV box - the resulting sound was superb for watching movies and TV series, as well as streaming music, although I did notice a small delay at some points. Interesting enough I'd blame this on the Amazon box, since this didn't happen when paired to a Windows laptop (and seeing this same type of delay also appeared in previous tests with other Bluetooth speakers and the same Amazon device).

Because there is no remote control for the Edifier Exclaim BT Connect I'd say using it with your TV set is a nice touch but not really its strong feature - for this I recommend the Edifier R2000DB Lifestyle speakers.

Overall the sound quality is really impressive for such small speakers and worth considering if you are looking for PC/laptop speakers.
