Cognima develops a mobile framework that supports replication of personal data (contacts, photos and personalised content), and system data (such as phone settings) between a subscriber's mobile phone and a Cognima Server hosted by a Service Provider. The platform currently supports Windows Mobile Smartphones and Symbian Series 60 devices.
These services can be licensed directly to a mobile operator or service provider, or Cognima can host and operate the server as a managed service. The services include:
Cognima Snap, for uploading photos and video clips to an online photo album or mobile blog with a single key-press.
Cognima Safeguard keeps phone address book contacts and other personal settings safe, and restores them to a replacement phone over the air if the user looses or breaks their phone. Integration with a web portal allows online editing of the users' personal data.
Cognima Refresh pre-emptively caches and dynamically updates personalised content on mobile phones. This gives the user instant access to the content, even when out of network coverage. Cognima Refresh keeps track of user consumption and purchase of the cached content.
I've posted a couple of news about them before, but this time they deserve a blog entry - this is the second CD I receive from them! Every few months Cognima compiles a new album, part of the "Music To Replicate Data By" series. They're currently sending out Volume 3 on the series - I missed Volume 1, and it seems it is now sold out.
You just have to visit the company's site, and follow the yellow bricks. And of course read about their products and services. Quite cool stuff really.
