MSN Search and MSN Spaces on Windows Mobile devices

I am not sure how many of you actually visit the Pocket PC version of Mobile MSN on your Windows Mobile Pocket PC or Smartphone. I am one that does not often use the site - except for Hotmail access it offers mainly US-based content.

However I found out today about some cool new features on this site. Visit the site and click on Beta Services to find them.

First, already online for a while, is the Pocket PC and Smartphone version of MSN Spaces (mobile.spaces.msn.com). This version not only gives access to the personal blogs on MSN Spaces, but it allows you to actually make new posts, comment on someone else's posts, and most interesting, if you login using the same Passport account for MSN Spaces and MSN Messenger, the frontpage will list all updated blogs within your contact list!

Very nice, but what I did not like was the "in your face" links to the new MSN Filter blogs in the front page. Perhaps one link should be enough?

The new feature is a location search based on MSN Search... You can find places near an address or ZIP code. For example search for "Pizza" and enter the ZIP code 95050: it will return more than 7600 pizza places including address and telephone numbers, listing the closest one on the top - only .43 miles from the address.

And if you tap on any results you get the full details, including a map. Nice touch!
