Confused About Windows Mobile Models?
Posted on 21-Sep-2005 17:09 by M Freitas | Tags Filed under: Blog

I have to say I was confused too. All those very cool Windows Mobile devices with lots of different names, from different vendors or mobile operators... Quite interesting to see someone posting on a public newsgroup or in our Geekzone Forums a question about T-Mobile MDA Pro, which just happens to be O2 Xda Exec, or i-mate JASJAR.

You see, they all have the same platform, coming out of the manufacturer with the same basic technical specifications, only different in what software is bundled with the package, and a couple of other differences in colour or network settings.

We have spent some time here to create database of Windows Mobile devices. The idea is to have a page with an easy way to access information on there devices.

Each hyperlink is a filter. It means you can filter the listing by brand, model, manufacturer or device type. For example, if you click Universal you will see all devices based on this design, with more detailed specification. And if you click HTC then you will see all devices created by this ODM.

Go on, try it... I need your input! Please use our Contact Page with any information you have about these devices: specifications, other operators selling these, other names they might have, anything to make this a more useful tool.

We will be including links to reviews (here on Geekzone or other sites) and more images soon. Also in the works is a comparison tool - more on this later.

Thanks to pocketinfo.nl for allowing me to use some of their images.
