Huawei FreeBuds 3 review
Posted on 27-Nov-2019 14:21 Reviews, Consumer Electronics

Huawei has launched its FreeBuds 3 wireless in-ear noise-cancelling earbuds in New Zealand and we have a look. And they are so small that just this is amazing on itself. Weighing at only 4.5 g each earbud - and 48 g for the case, it's incredible how much power it packs.

Sony HT-X8500 soundbar review
Posted on 8-Jul-2019 16:48 Reviews, Consumer Electronics, by M Freitas

Nothing can be more disappointing to home entertainment users than bad sound. With few exceptions (mostly on the high-end and cost side) most TV sets have very poor sound when compared to their screen quality (the Sony A1 TVs with their on-screen speakers is one of the top TVs in this respect). So I was quite happy to try the new Sony HT-X8500 soundbar with my poor sound quality TV.

Harman Kardon Allure Portable review
Posted on 17-May-2019 11:59 Reviews, Consumer Electronics, by M Freitas

Voice-activated digital assistant speakers are a more common sight around the house - and a growing market every day. Since my visite to Microsoft's house of the future in Seattle, back in the mid-2000s, I imagined living in a fully digital house, one that you control with your voice and managed through your smart devices.

Epson ET-2710 review
Posted on 12-Apr-2019 17:25 Reviews, Consumer Electronics

For the last few years we have used a laser printer at home. Over those years I have tested a few inkjet printers but couldn't really say I was ever happy enough with results to change devices. I was also unhappy with photo printing results on older printers. This changed when I tried the Epson ET-2710.

Yubikey 5 review
Posted on 18-Feb-2019 15:34 Reviews, Security, by M Freitas

Managing ones access to services in general (online and offline) is something everyone does in their lives but not many consider the implications around chosing weak passwords, the problems of reusing passwords, the lack of security by design in some services and so on. Yubikey devices (and second factor authentication in general) can enhance security online, if used right.
