Well, I guess I could.. but that's a terrible sign up experience! and in fact, I am considered myself a NEW customer for sky sports now although they thought the spend of $5 on an all white game disqualify me on that!

What does the T+C's say?

Every user error has its' roots in design error.

you tell me

The red text makes it look like an error, and typically re-clicking the same button without changing anything else would not help. I'd therefore say it's not good design.

it is an error, but if you read it, it explains it.

You’re 100% right, but also kind of wrong. In the sense that in UI/UX things should be as simple and obvious as possible - without reading the entire text of an error. That’s mostly because the vast majority of users don’t actually read the vast majority of stuff on the screen.

As a part time UI person, I would change the button to say “Confirm Purchase”, which prompts the user that it’s just a confirmation step, or something that confirms charge me immediately. Or locate it and the error within their own red box so it’s clear what’s happening. Assuming I couldn’t validate this before you even got to the point of clicking purchase which would be even better.

I guess this now turns into a design issue/debate, but to be honest, I reached out to support and if the support person could handle this slightly better, it would be a completely different experience. I am not just another more unhappier sky sports now customer and would most likely not to recommend friends and family to buy
