traceywnz: Aaroona - Im glad you told me that.. the E71 was one I was seriously considering.. is it really grainy??

Its a fantastic phone for mostly everything else, except the camera is still seriously lacking as far as i'm concerned, for a 3.2mp camera.

Above is a link to a few photos i've just taken on the e71

Get a Sony Ericsson C901, its a nice looking phone with a very good 5mp Auto focus camera with Xenon flash.

If you look at all the reviews it scores well, only $338 from http://www.einfo.co.nz/shop/product_info.php?products_id=10465

Not bad, had forgotten about that handset.

To be honest though, for only a couple of hundred more you get GPS, WiFi connectivity, much better video recording quality, and smartphone versatility in the N82 - in other words much better value for money. Not to mention you get to use MicroSD, rather than Sony's expensive M2 alternative, which means twice as much storage capacity. But yes, from the camera point of view, the C901 is a very nicely priced handset...

PS: When you look at the spec sheet for the C901 don't believe the bit where it says it has "Geotagging" - its a dirty marketing lie. It uses your nearest call tower to "geotag" the photo, since it has no GPS unit, and trust me that is nowhere near the same thing as true geotagging.

Watch auction closed for just $700 - which would at least put a good amount towards the phone -- but have not heard from the buyer yet so only giving a few more days then back to the drawing board.
