cokeman2: this is what i mean

http://www.nokian900applications.com/

nothing shows up tried reinstalling and restarting ph nothing happens :(

Have you installed the latest version 0.509?

I read the icons/controls only appear once you open the camera....

If you have problems installing due to missing dependancies, follow these instructions:
1- Install Rootsh (if not yet installed)
2- open xterminal
3- type: sudo gainroot
4- type: apt-get update
5- type: apt-get upgrade
6- type: apt-get install python-hildondesktop
7- type: apt-get install hildon-desktop-python-loader
*after performing all the above steps:
8- install lfocus latest version lfocus_0.509-1
9- reboot the device
10- open camera lens (then tap once on the screen)
11- tap on the bar menu ( where the signal, clock, ... is located)

That worked for me....I have it running fine

I recommend people try out Opera Mobile 10, just released for Maemo....
I always prefered Opera Mini on my old Symbian based Nokia N97...

It has on screen keyboards for both portrait and landscape mode when physical keyboard not in use, and hides when physical keyboard is opened...

Really fast loading, much easier on-screen controls for forwards and back, refresh etc

Tabbed browsing, 1 tap to zoom....the list goes on!

It is missing some features though...such as no Flash....

Still, I recommend it to try....I will use and see if it can replace my default browser, but I do need Flash support

hey guys
who has tried the "I am here" app?
:This application allows you to do following things:

1. Configure what messages will activate configuration wizard, will start sending reports and stop sending reports.

2. Set GPS report settings:
*send last cached GPS position?
*send fix position?
*use the best accuracy from last 5 fixes?
*timeout after which the gps will stop, you will get notification message

3. Set SMS receiver's number ( I will add later posibility for auto-reply), set if the sms reports should come periodically.

4.Set email settings:
*receiver's e-mail address
*send gps
*send pics from both cameras
*send reports periodically

5.You can enable check if the sim card was changed or removed, you will get e-mail and sms notification"

i am getting emails from the app(battery notification gps time out emails ) but no gps /sms email or message yet ...gps timed out it said .

i think might have put a wrong password in sum where and trying to find a way to delete the config file , yeah i ve sent the sms to myself with config in it ,but cant get back to the wizard menu , yeah even after uninstall ...

any idears ?

just an update if you guys were interest running pr1.2 beta and overclocked to 900mhz and my phone cranks. It's wayyy better than stock so quick everything on the phone comes to life highly recommend it. Have run at 1ghz and it stays stable but it gets a bit to toastie for comfort.

I have got my psx emulator running and have been playing final fantasy 7 at full speed (visually) but the sound can sometimes sounds a bit funny (which is a software bug that needs to be fixed) highly playable though and trying to replay it.

Only thing I have left to do is configure fmms. Has anybody dont it for nz and can point me in the direction of a tutorial please?

Appreciate the pointers, but personally I will not install that leaked PR1.2....have read alot of problems with it....much rather wait for the official update.

If you help with fMMS, have a read of the 'Nokia N900 MMS' threas first, I posteinstructions there, although the latest version the settings panel has changed, the settings you enter are still the same.

Otherwise if you still are struggling, give me a hola, Ive got it runnin on mine.

Updating to PR1.2 will only update the firmware...not remove dodgy apps or fix the damage they may have done, such as use up valuable memory....

I recommend flashing and starting from scratch, that will guarantee optimum performance...just remember to backup your personal files, and your contacts.

As for over clocking instructions, read here.
I warn ya though...ya could cook ya device...your risk.
I do have mine overclocked to 900mhz at the mo though, no issues (so far)

Hi All,

Went to download the latest firmware but was unsure of what one I should download as there is a few options. Can someone post the name of the two .bin files I would need to use.

Cheers
