I've just bought a Nokia E71 second-hand. I'm having trouble figuring out how the simcard goes in. I have a Vodafone Sim2, which is quite a bit larger than what the available slot seems to take.

Do you need some kind of special, smaller simcard for this phone? Did all simcards quietly get smaller while I just got older? Help. I don't know my way back to the rest-home.

The SIM card goes under the battery just under where the camera is. There is a picture of a SIM card with the direction it should go.

If the SIM card is new, then (I'm guessing here) you'll need to pop it out of the credit card size plastic surround and insert the smaller piece into the handset.

Hopefully this is clear enough :)

It turns out the deceptive sim-shaped yet not sim-sized hole is just for looking at your sim. The trick was to slide it in from the other direction. I didn't even have to trim any bits off.

Wait... You have to *CUT* your SIM card...

Oh, I see you solved it. Good.
