Hiya, years ago I had a Nokia 5110 I had a fax number which I paid a monthly fee.

Can someone advise me how they are these days?  Is it possible to send and receive a fax right on the smartphone?

Also, can the USB 3G sticks send and receive faxes?
These USB sticks, are they on a different phone number?  Can you get the number so it matches your mobile phone?  Possible to make voice calls and text via the USB sticks?

Cheers

A fax number is not related to a phone a FAX number sits on the voicemail platform

Fax numbers are now free no monthly cost

You can't make a voice call from a USB modem it has no speaker or Mic SMS function is built into the software

Thanks, I just thought that the computer may have speakers and a mic ;)

Can the USB modem send a SMS given it is 3G? I heard that the modem has a simcard with a different phone number. Does that mean if I have a USB stick as well as a 3G phone, I would be hit with 2 bills?

Like the good old days if the phone or the USB stick is attached to the laptop can I send a fax out?

Thanks

You do not need 3G to send SMS

As advised above YES you can send SMS

and if the data connection is on the same account number it will come on one invoice
