Hi,
I've fairly recently purchased a TiVo from Telecom online and have had good experiences with it so far, but then I purchased the Home Networking Package and received the MAK and Desktop Plus Key, installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.. However, the TiVo Desktop software can never find the DVR even though the DVR can find the PCs on the network.. I've checked ports etc but am at a loss as to why I cannot find the DVR from my PC.. has anyone had this issue before?

Some troubleshooting instructions here:

http://support.tivo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/196

You can check if firewall is blocking by trying to connect to your Tivo from a browser.

I have the same issue too. For me, it has been quite random, still haven't work out a pattern. I sometimes restart TiVo, sometimes reconnect the TiVo's USB wireless adapter... I actually suspect it has something to do with that Apple software (Bonjour) they installed...  And plus general sloppy coding with TiVo Desktop, been seeing quite a few unhandled exceptions...

How uncanny, previously I had ensured that all required ports were opened (in the list provided on many web sites) and that had not made a difference, however, I simply created a rule now to allow any and all traffic to/from computers in my local range (10.10.10.x) and it picked up the TiVo straight away...

Thanks for the replies guys
