Is there any setting I can enable, or perhaps I need to use another remote code to get the tivo universal remote to control the TV volume more easily?  On the original samsung remote if I held the volume up/down it would repeatedly send the signal quickly allowing the volume to increase/decrease.  On the tivo remote it doesnt repeat meaning multiple presses to get it to go up or down and its very slow (usually I just grab the original remote, to turn the volume up and down instead).

I do have a harmony remote that I can switch too but hoping I can use the tivo one.

There may be more than one set of codes for Samsung. Go through the procedure to set the code again, but when it first turns off the TV just keep going to see if there is another code that works.

We also have a Samsung TV, and the thing I would like to fix is switching source with the TiVo remote, where you have to press the volume button to make the menu go away. When using the Samsung remote it doesn't behave that way. Perhaps I should follow the advice I just gave you :)

If you find a solution, post back. It annoys me too.

Went through more remote codes so now have it changing volume better. I tried every single samsung code but nothing solves the input issue unfortunately so choosing the desired input then volume up/down it is.

Good to hear you fixed volume issue. Thanks for testing input switching codes, shame there wasn't a fix for that.

If I may jump on the end of this thread please....

What model number are people using when they configure their harmony remotes to work with the NZ Tivo unit?

(or are they training it up manually off the actual Tivo remote?)

Are there any bonus features obtained by entering off the Harmony database? - like ad skips or something not necessarily on the Tivo remote?

Thanks.

Harmony's db has the tivo well covered just enter tivo, then search and it will show you the tivo 320 as an option.

OK thanks, I'll go back and have a closer look.

The official model number appears to be: TCD663320 or the common TiVo 320

Ok, are people opting for "my device does not have an on/off button" or "I want to permanently leave this on" on the harmony setup?

As I understand it the standby doesn't do much anyway, but do people opt to put it into this mode or not?

I also read that selecting channel 999 or something means there will be nothing to buffer on the hard drive, which is presumably writing constantly on the off chance you want to live rewind/record etc....
