andrewc: Yes, it's very easy using the API. I'm not sure what use it is though?

Very useful to those in business. analysing what others are selling is very important.
Price points, how long they have been holding that stock etc.

Right. It does appear though that you're actually scraping Trade Me -- why would you do that when there's an API? Much easier and not against their T&Cs.
Also, if for whatever reason you want a local database of items, you'd be better off with a database system, not a spreadsheet, and separating the fields so you can search or sort by them easily.

I love your site bidbud I think its great and very useful.

I'm glad you like BidBud anyway...

I could make an app or something so that you get an alert if you're outbid... (I think that's what you mean?), but really you shouldn't just update your bid because someone bid more -- you should choose your bid and stick to it. I still get a number of people coming onto BidBud when an auction is closing and furiously updating their bid... which kind of defeats the purpose!
In my opinion, BidBud doesn't resolve it to a point, it resolves it -- I've won a number of auctions while doing something else and I've also lost a few too. The main thing was I never paid more than I wanted to.

The thing I could most likely figure out by myself maybe using twitter is to be alerted when an auction is about to finish I always forget Its not a big deal. But I would say to make your site mobile wouldnt be a bad idea

You're my hero!  All I can say is "Wow"...  and "Thanks".

I looked into sniping a couple of years ago and back then it was clunky, required signing up and paying dodgy-looking sites for client software that may not have worked on TM... and I'm sure it was against the TOS (don't recall the actual conditions, but I think because the API wasn't available or capable).  Your site totally rocks.

One suggestion for monetisation that I'd support: If I managed to win an auction for anything less than my highest price via BidBud, I'd happily send you a percentage of the difference if you made it easy to do.  If I say I'll pay up to $20 and I get it for $10 I'd gladly send a couple of bucks your way.

Keep it up!
