Agreed from consumer perspective it's all Skinny and therefore people won't be very accepting of losing balances and jumping through hoops for what looks like just a plan change

This approach means that we have a consistent look and feel across the website and apps.  We also only have to maintain one primary code base, which means more savings that enable us to make the Combos such great value.  I'd be interested to hear why you think it isn't mobile optimised because that is a key part of our design process.  Regarding the speed if you let me know what device you are using we will run some tests to see if there is something we need to change as we haven't seen any issues on the range we have used in development.

 

 

I am using a Nexus 5X (Android 7.0):

 

Takes 10 seconds to go to the homepage. As you can see from the following image the "go to your profile" button is that small thing up in the corner:

Then, once you tap that a further 5 seconds to bring up your balances:

An improvement would be to always bring up the balances screen for those logged in when the app is opened but it isn't as informative as the Skinny app which was very quick to load (what I was used to) so does feel like a bit of a step back:

Just more a minor thing but can be fixed quite easily. I do understand about the simplicity with only dealing with a mobile wrapper but at the same time I would have through re-releasing the same app you use with Skinny pointing to the API's on the Skinny Direct site might have been a little easier to implement? It would be insane to split this into 2 different billing systems.

So if Skinny Direct don't sell mobile phones, will I need to pay the $30 unlock fee if i want to use a skinny or spark handset on Skinny Direct?

Also, any chance of simcard pic?

I was looking at a switch to Skinny Direct but with todays increase in Spark Plans I will be staying. Sparks new plans have more added value ie Spotify and now lightbox





GZMCC. Nokia Lumia 1020,Lenovo Yoga C640. 8 gb Ram and 256Gb SSD, Cam Am Spyder F3 LTD.  GoPro 5 Black,  Huawei P30 Pro,Huawei GT Smartwatch

Can't remember if this was answered in the thread or on the site, but any Spark mobile will work with Skinny direct.

Yeah the skinny app knows I'm on skinny and very quickly shows me my balances without any extra effort logging in. The skinny direct app doesn't even feel like an app, more of an icon to a slow to load advertisement, definitely a step backwards.

Question: I'm currently on 2degrees. If I can keep my busy/reject/vm redirect, that would seal the deal for me. With 2d on prepay, I can change the call forwarding numbers. Can't do that on Spark prepay. Is this available on Skinny Direct?

No I'm afraid we only redirect to voicemail, although that can be set as announcement only and prevent people from leaving a message.

Deals look great - how long does it typically take to have a simcard sent out? I signed up Tuesday morning - they took the monthly payment instantly (bit cheeky considering there is no way the plan can be used until the sim is received?)
