Light on details until I get home and check, but I have wifi working locally on my lounge heatpump from the daikon app.

Thing is I don't need it there, as I have a remote that works fine.

Can't get the 'away from home' mode working, where i really want the app - so I can turn on before we get home.

Anyone else doing this successfully?

I'm curious about this too. I've also got the Cora Wi-Fi module and like Jaxson, it works while I'm on the home Wi-Fi but 'await from home' doesn't work.

The modules won't connect to 5GHz wifi. So enable 2.4GHz and a new SSID if you haven't already on the router, and use the phone app to connect the adapter to that network - not a 5GHz network - which your phone can see - so you think it should work, but it doesn't.

When properly working out of range of wifi, it usually takes 20 seconds or so for the app to first try connecting direct, before a message comes up that it's connecting to "away from home" mode.

The worst part about setting up these adapters is that there's no feedback from inside the phone app setup process that you've done something wrong.  WPS didn't work for me with either of the two adapters I've got, I had to do them both manually when I got a new modem.  Only took an hour or two to finally figure out how to get them working - which should have been simple job.

Of course I won't be surprised if this doesn't answer your problem.  These adapters drive me nuts.

I've had no issue with mine. As above, when away from the house I just open up the app. It will try to find a wifi adapter and when it can't it will switch to "away from home" mode. It will ask me to log in, my username and password are saved so I just click login and after a few seconds I'm connected.

I've been so impressed with the Wifi operations I've just ordered a second Daikin Cora unit with Wifi module for the master bedroom

There's an autologin checkbox on the app away from home settings, check that and you don't need to do anything, just open the app.

Same here, mines rock solid and works every time. I’ve had mine for about 4 or 5 years and never had a issue. I’m sorry I’ve got no suggestions to help.

Coming back to this thread that I started 4 years ago.

Does anyone know where I can source the official ANZ Wifi module. When I had my first Cora heat pump installed it was BRP072A42 but I believe the latest model number is BRP072C42. I've just had a 2nd Cora unit installed in the master bedroom but the installer wasn't willing to the supply the Wifi module. Keen to source the correct ANZ module rather than taking my chances with the European version. Can't find a retailer/installer here that will just supply the module. There appear to be a couple in Australia but I thought I'd check back here before looking into shipping one from Oz.

You could try calling Daikin NZ on 0800 20 90 10

I can guess how (un)helpful they'll be.

A quick google suggests that retail price in Malaysia is ~= NZ$130.  Add the NZ/Aus typical price penalties, and the prices ex Aus probably aren't too bad.

I assume the heat pump has the wiring incl patch cable installed and ready to go?  If not, that may be the reason why the installer didn't want to supply (and install) the wifi unit, I had to "substantially disassemble" my floor mount unit to access the main board. Without a youtube guide - it would have been a struggle.

I’m looking for the same unit and would be keen to hear if you have any luck finding these for a reasonable price

I bought my Daikin wifi module from https://gavinlowe.co.nz in Christchurch and they had no issue selling it to me direct.

Not sure what model, ours isn't a Cora heatpump.

Semi-related, as part of the Bunnings clearout of stuff in the "Things that make you smile" thread, they were also selling WiFi IR controllers for $50 which do heat pumps.... and from trying to find it to provide a more concrete ref they have this that does the same thing for $44.99.

Bump.

Purchasing Daikin Cora. They said that if I remove the chip for wi-fi, warranty will be voided.

How is it possible to DEACTIVATE wi-fi chip, and to stop it from being activated in the first place?

Also, how to ensure that noone else walking past can activate wi-fi remotely, including Daikin

company itself?

Thoughts?

just buy a broadlink rm4 mini, for around $25 locally or half that off aliexpress.   can learn learn from your existing remote (which is time consuming due to how heatpumps work, one code for every single temp + fan speed + mode).   but not too bad, i just did it for mine to use in home assistant.   took about half an hour, something you can do while watching tv at the same time, so not bad, just slightly annoying.

I asked for a topic to be reopened so that I may ask a question, and then someone answers to 2021 post.

Hence, I will need to start a new topic, else my question will drown.
