What interests me is the observation that there is a spectrum of how people see and respond to laws. There are those who would walk off a cliff if the law told them to without any regard to whether or not the law was "right". Heck, slavery used to be legal. Then we have those who regard any and all laws as for other people and not applicable to them. Most people in a civil society with civil laws follow most laws. Where the law is plainly an ass, then civil disobedience ensues, and there is either a crack down (risking a revolt), or the law is changed. Where society is an ass, the laws are enacted to stifle the assery- hopefully without revolt.
Then there is the concept that laws are not always moral, and that what is moral may be not legal. Fasincating stuff.
