Wondering if there are any other LD runners on GZ?  I'd be interested in seeing some other/new routes around NZ and if you're ever around this way (Rotorua) I'm always keen for a run.

Anyway, I'll kick off with the Eastern Okataina Walkway, ran through to Humphries Bay and back (plus a couple of loop backs to pick up group stragglers).  I've run it a few times, great trail, quite technical single track which keeps you focused.  Seen deer on it a few times, loads of wallabies and a couple possums.  Lake Okataina is very nice as well, keeps pretty cool year round so in summer a dip in it after a run is a good treat for the legs.  It's about a half hour drive from Rotorua to the Okataina end.

So, whats a route you've done recently or an all time favourite?

I have done both the Taupo and Queenstown half marathons and the scenery is amazing.

Kennedy's Bush and the Crater Rim Walkway in Christchurch are good if you can handle the brutal gradient. For something a bit less steep consider the fell railway trail through the Rimutakas.

Nice, I've got a few friends who did the Queenstown one, they rated it quite high.  I haven't done the half in Taupo but I've done the Kinloch one, quite nice even though it's an out and back track.

I like running with wii fit - less hassle than running in the wild and the scenery is better.

If only it connected to Strava, I'd  be all over it.
