Dingbatt: I am still plucking up the courage to watch the game live. My heart rate went through the roof watching the semi so I don't know how I'll cope. Ironically the last time I got that agitated over a rugby game was the 2011 final.

Heh I agree with you. I am also considering watching it live, but I probably won't. 2011 RWC Final was one of the most tense I've been for a long time, though I agree, that Semi Final was horrible on my heart!

Regardless of the outcome, I think the guys did us proud. I do feel it's going to be a big game. I hope we don't get finals fright like in 2011.

Whilst there didn't seem too much doubt Richie would retire after this RWC, it's not pretty much certain. Crusaders haven't put his name anywhere in their 2016 squad.

I'm actually amazed by the Twickenham pitch. 4 manic games in 7 days and would it still look brand new? You bet!

That is a big call. I'll say we win by 10 points.

If the ABs get to play the way they want it (France) they can win by a big margin against just about any team. But if their opponents are able to disrupt their tempo, then their advantage is reduced, and if they make mistakes they could lose. So it all depends on who controls the game ... and don't forget the rub of the ref ...

I'm not a rugby head like many here, I read some interesting stuff today. Stat for stat we take care of Oz in the vast majority of areas. Nice to know. And Gifford was it, suggested use Kaino to take care of Pollock (I think) in the breakdowns. Well summit like that! In any case, and the fact the SH is so astute, I'd say he has plans to accentuate what we can do, and reverse the expected targeting by Chieka's players. As Split Enz, goes, "One Step Ahead" These last three words are my non scientific appraisal. It might well be a game that 's 90% coach. Both teams, if at their best, are close. We've been in our heyday in recent years, Oz, not so much, but these big games do a bit of levelling. Especially for Oz and less so for us at times.

On a side note, the Boks were praising us so much.Nice psychological tactic to take the sting out of our intensity. Didn't work. Oz are criticising us for being arrogant and misleading ourselves due to our recent successes in recent years, seeing ourselves as better than we are, overrating ourselves. To make us second guess how good we are. Lets see. Countdown has begun, T minus 3 days

Who is braver? Many of these finals games are low scoring, teams reduce risk. Who will stretch out and have a go? Maybe we will attack and run hard from first whistle as we did against France, see how that goes for a spell, before SH says " uh oh, better regroup" or "wow, keep at it"

My guess - they are going to kick into the corner, force defensive lineouts the entire first half. Like SA. Just a guess though. I mean why face Pocock through the middle when you can use our 5 jumpers to put pressure on their lineout (they have 3 usual jumpers) 5m from the try line.

Having said that, Cheika will have also analysed the ABs and have his own plan. Not sure what, though. Presumably bomb NMS would be top of my list, and practice doing the same territorial kicking to return the favour.

Our team for the Final:

All Blacks: Ben Smith, Nehe Milner-Skudder, Conrad Smith, Ma'a Nonu, Julian Savea, Dan Carter, Aaron Smith, Kieran Read, Richie McCaw (c), Jerome Kaino, Sam Whitelock, Brodie Retallick, Owen Franks, Dane Coles, Joe Moody. Reserves: Keven Mealamu, Ben Franks, Charlie Faumuina, Victor Vito, Sam Cane, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Beauden Barrett, Sonny Bill Williams

Pretty happy with this team. Pity for poor Wyatt Crockett he can't be included, that really sucks for him.

Go get the Cup Boys!

Of all the talk of the battle of the loosies the unseen battle 'could' be between Carter and Giteau. Same era, same side foot, same type of player, I wonder if they will have similar duties. Of course one is a superstar and branded on many people's crotch.

To be fair, all KR has to to do 'step up' is cut down on mistakes - particularly handling errors and occasionally a missed tackle. If you look at his stats/work around the field hes still a big contributor. Just not out on the tramlines with awesome passes like he was in 2013 - that seems to be Dane Coles now.
