networkn: I am struggling with Rod Kafer, I used to like the guy but everytime he opens his mouth these days...

Apparently the "ONLY right decision" on Ben Smiths Tackle which earned him a Yellow Card, was actually a RED card.

He's about as neutral and factual as Grant Nisbett and Justin Marshall. He's commentating for the Australian audience just take it for what it is. Also who really cares.

Well I'd say that was pretty unfair comparing GB + JM to RK!

The Australians hate Marshall and Nisbett and think they're cheerleaders.

I find it hard to prove that they are wrong - they were looking for reasons the Nene Skudder forward pass to Kaino could be over ruled rather than commentating what a horse douse decision it was. If the boot had been on the other foot can you imagine what they would have been like? Marshall was embarrassing last week during the semi after Kaino had been sin binned.

But anyway who cares? Winners are grinders and I'm smiling 😀.

I got up with my 6 year old son to watch the final this morning, the first time I can recall ever getting up to watch an overnight game. Was spectacular. It's been a rollercoaster few days personally, as my daughter was rushed to starship with an unknown illness (not life threatening at this stage), so I hadn't had a lot of sleep. It was supposed to be a family event, my wife ended up watching at starship, me at home. Finally getting a little downtime to fully appreciate what has been accomplished.

It really is a superb day for Rugby, for New Zealand, and a really nice day to be a All Blacks fan.

It certainly was, I hope your daughter is ok, Starship isn't somewhere you want to be at any time.

Justin Marshall is 100% biased.
Grant Nisbett is quite restrained actually.
I don't follow the Aussie commentator much other than the "radar" guy - i know he's on when kicks are taken. But they seem to be quite restrained. JM ... *facepalm

Thanks. My passion for Rugby has grown significantly over the past 4 years and I was pretty into it back then, having watched every minute of every match in the RWC, I feel confident the Rugby was of a higher standard (more competitive across all teams) than it was in 2011, though I feel we put on an amazing RWC.

Thank you for your kind comments re my Daughter, she is pretty tough for 3, she will see this off and be back to her normal self pretty soon we hope.

I feel right now, after living and breathing Rugby for the past 10 weeks especially, I have a fairly big hole, I am sad there is no end of year tour. I'll be watching the Baa Baa's game. I am considering trying to get some way of watching the six nations and other such competitions in Europe. My Interest in teams like Georgia and Namibia is pretty high now.

It certainly was, I hope your daughter is ok, Starship isn't somewhere you want to be at any time.

Thanks, though if you were going to be in a hospital, Starship is pretty decent! :) They genuinely like kids there (Though both sets of nurses and 2 sets of doctors, opted to come back when my daughter "was feeling more agreeable". We had to go and tell them this is about as good as it gets :)

While the RWC is over, and we will lose 6 top players, I am actually looking forward to what we can do from here. We still have many top players, and some young ones who will be talented, and hungry will be surrounded by a lot of experience and a great mentor in SH. You'd expect there will be leniency in that noone can expect the younger team to do what the current team has done, so less inherent pressure. But therein lies the question. Will the fresh blood go on and prosper? (Thanks Mr Spock) I think they will. 4 years is a lot of learning to be had.

SBW has a number of detractors, but I think he has proven his worth and the fact he is actually not the selfish so and so, that a lot of people reported. His gesture to give his medal to the kid who stormed the field was a nice one, and the refugee thing as well. Not to mention, he like a lot of players like Kaino, peaked at the perfect time.

You'd have to completely take your hat off to Steve Hansen, the guy has vision and planning I can't even fathom. I've always held he was the right guy for the job, though I have disagreed with a few of his selection choices from time to time, but clearly he is THE man! I think he is probably a step above Graham Henry. One thing I admire, a lot about him, is that he doesn't
just expect more of the team, he strives for his own personal improvements. He has come right out of his shell and embraced the media. Though I think the measure of the man is how he handles losing, and he doesn't really have to face the media much in those circumstances. I also think he has fostered a more inclusive and sportman like approach to other teams. I don't think
the AB's are quite as friendly with Australia as with SA, but once upon a time, they were genuinely trying to kill each other.

I am bracing myself for a rough coming 12 months. I think it's underestimated by most, the impact of the 6 players that are leaving. I think we have some lessons to learn and new leadership that needs to stand up. I actually think one of those characters that will do that, is Aaron Smith. Kieran Reid is a clear leader too, though I will not be completely surprised if he calls it quits sometime soonish. I like Sam Cane, but I don't get the same feeling of confidence with him as some others might, though again, if SH think's he's captaincy material it's entirely likely he will be excellent.

Thats a good summary. I was "ok" with SBW, although I admit distracted by his various endeavours. But, he has really proved himself, not just his backhanded passes, but his impact. His backhanded passes appears to becoming part of the AB skill set. How the southern game differs from the northern game now

Well I guess Argentina is strictly speaking Southern Hemisphere but Sonny Bill Creevy was really seriously good at offloading as were some of the other teams like Namibia when they played Georgia.

You know ... Steve Hansen is pretty smart ... I think nothing will happen.

If anything happens it's because the other teams find a way to catch up. But even then this guy will have a 4 year plan to keep just that arm length ahead. No need for any more.
