Gutted. To lose by 1 point. There will be some fingers pointed in both directions at the reffing, notably the last lineout which wasn't even remotely straight and should have been a penalty. Never mind. Well Done Warratahs who took it to the Crusaders for the first 20 minutes and held on to Win.

Lineouts not straight are scrum resets, and we won the ball in the air anyway.  I think he was pretty consistent, and I think Crusaders had multiple chances to bury it, but ultimately made some dumb errors.  the most blatant for me were

1) The crusaders sub who stood with his arms in the air behind the ruck and allowed the Tahs half back to throw the ball at him for a penality - DONT STAND THERE!?

2) Willies box kick X2 when you lead by 2 and there is less than 4 minutes to go!  The first one went out on the full and the second one had no chasers

3) Richie was warned off that penality in the last play, but he kept going anyway.  Now some have said he was the tackler, and that would make the penalty null in void as Jouberts own words were "you werent the tackler".  But I didnt record it so I cant go back for a look.

Other dumb infringements that cost points was the Crusaders prop putting his leg around the side at ruck time, they had already been pinged in the first half for the same thing, its simply a brain explosion!

I thought with the number or mistakes like these Tahs deserved the win, PS I was actually going for the Crusaders!

well from the 20th minute forth, it was a ding dong battle, whoever scores in the last 5 minutes was going to win. nothing more than that i reckon.

for a more serious analysis the Tahs gave away at least 8 points that i can remember from foley missing kicks. and what was the TMO looking at - i thought i saw a foot in touch for the Crusaders try - at least another few angles needed but try was awarded just like that.

on the other hand the crusaders dominated the scrum and stole just about every other waratah throw.

very even in the end.

the deeper question is ... please don't pick DC for the RWC otherwise guarantee won't retain the WE cup

Great game. Crusaders kicking away possession in the last few minutes was super dumb.

not "crusaders". it was the replacement halfback. he did it umm ... twice! maybe the captain should've told him off after the first time. so you could blame 2 people.

The Crusaders lost away, to the best team in the competition courtesy of a marginal call and average decision making, I don't think there will be too many fans furious they didn't get the win. It could have gone either way. I am hoping that Blackadder doesn't quit or get sacked over it.

Great news that Carter wasn't actually injured!

I'm not going to blame one person. Stupid to do - from my couch based coaching role - but all that was doing was preserving a very average lead in the first place.

The two Crusaders tries were classic ,well, Crusaders tries. The two scored against them were defensive fails that were uncharacteristic. The penalty milked by the 'Tahs halfback on the lazy runner is nothing less than I have seen Ellis do for the Crusaders a couple of times this season.
The banana throw in by the Warratahs close to the end was blatant and should have been called by the Assistant Referee. It didn't directly lead to points but gave the Warratahs possession that should have been the Crusader's.
Constantly kicking to the likes of Folau, Beale and Ashley-Cooper, particularly when all you needed to do was retain possession, may not have been the brightest idea. Although I believe all Hines was really trying to do was get the ball down the field and outside penalty range.
I know there are a lot of All Blacks in the Crusaders but in almost every case the penalties given away that cost them points were done so by ABs. Mr Joubert had his normal good game. He applied his interpretation of the rules evenly. McCaw joined the final ruck from the side, was lifted up into the middle and kept a hand on the ball. It happens often enough that I'm sure the top referees are already primed for him to do it, and there is no 'benefit of the doubt' applied any more.
In the end not the result I wanted, but an entertaining game. And if Carter is injured I think Slade may have played his way back into the ABs squad.
I have decided I don't like the conference system for the competition. I would prefer a complete round robin and then just semis and a final.

The super 18 or whatever number they churn out is going to be tiring. Life will never be the same for a super rugby player let alone an all black.

But he said the crusaders try (7 points) was incorrectly awarded too. 7 - 3 = 4

Personally I think it's a mistake to not have him on the bench at least. Dagg has a far superior boot to Smith, though I don't see this being the end of Dagg, he will fight back to contention, of this I am quite sure.

Barret plays first-five or full back Fekitoa can play both center positions and has been used on the wing before.  Who would you have removed?  Hansen does prefer the 5/3 forwards/backs split, most teams use a 4/4.
