"moderately dangerous"?

Yeah, lots of Pickpockets, scammers, and while we were there, there were 3 terror attacks.

I caught a pickpocket red handed.

Where was that? (off to Europe at Christmas)

Edit: and to keep this on topic, Is it Fekitoa to start on Saturday?

Paris and London.

We were in London during the attacks in Paris.

We were in Picadilly Square when 30 police cars and a swat van stormed through due to a commotion. Never heard what it was about, but people cleared out pretty quick.

Borough Markets were amazing but talking to some of the vendors was heart breaking and seeing some of the dedications etc was touching.

Yeah, we were warned multiple times about Los Ramblas in Barcelona, but didn't seem that bad, but it was 9 years ago.

Can I suggest you guys start a European Pickpocketing Thread?

:) Fair enough,

back to the rugby. Do the AB's selectors put their faith in either of 2 players who have played 0 & 1 tests respectively, paired with another who has 12 caps (many against some weaker southern hemisphere opposition)

They didn't select Fekitoa for the squad, but they couldn't have anticipated the loss of both of their experienced midfielders, and I guess they were hoping to blood Goodhue & Laumape with 10 minute spells with the game, or series, safe.

I'd like to the see the AB's play some flowing counter attacking rugby, but that lions defence is pretty good, even when not rushing. The weather doesn't looke like it will co-operate, and decent rain coming in around 6pm, getting heavier till later in the evening.  Still a nervous game for the fans, but hopefully the AB's can just handle it like another game, and play with some freedom.

Ok, who do you think will replace Billy Son Williams in 12? Is ALB going into 12 for Feikitoa to play 13?

If it doesn't rain and conditions are ok, All Blacks by 20 points, if it's raining, it's anyones game but I'd say AB's by 7.

A little surprised at some of the selections, however, in Steve I trust.

Laumape, has done well at Super Rugby,  He came on in place of Kaino almost immediately after SBW was sent off.

He did OK last week, on attack, defensively he was a bit rushed. I'm surprised after one cap from the bench he's starting.

Not sure I agree with Julian Savea on the wing, but maybe Naholo didn't recover from the head knock. Savea seems to be even more of a blunt instrument than Naholo and does't appear to have the ability to change his game up if it's not working (who knows, maybe he will get himself more involved as required)

Savea didn't impress me in the Cans v Lions game, one or 2 opportunities he had he looked a bit slow. He ran into contact a couple of times  on the wing when he should have used a bit of  body movement which we have seen before.

Jodie Barrett had an off night with the high ball & general handling for Canes, but maybe with his brother there he'll be more settled.

Jerome Kaino should be ready rip some lions heads off. First test he got injured by Sam Cane at 30 mins or so, second test he gets subbed for a centre after 26 mins. What more motivation does he need (especially with Squire coming back from the broken thumb looking for Rugby Championship places)

That tight 5 is great though, solid front row replacements. Perenara & A Savea add a lot from the the bench (even if not shown last game) and maybe Cruden can come and help us kick goals if needed, but not sure what else he adds. Jordie can kick goals , and at distance.

This series has has has me more excited than any AB's games for a while, save the Ireland game in Chicago (as I was there) and the return in Dublin to see how we reacted.

Hopefully our backlash is immense, take the momentum out of the Lions early.

I would have to say Naholo has been one of the worst picks at International level I can recall. He is basically error prone, but can show the occasional bit of brilliance (and to be fair it's been extremely occasional at test level, only in my opinion scoring tries that any other AB's winger also would have scored). I'd rather have someone a little less "brilliant" and more reliable. I didn't think he was a good pick so early and I stand by that today.

I'm picking a close game whatever the weather is. Lions can run the ball, they have looked very good when they have tried that infrequently in the last few games. If they can stop this fetish of giving away penalties left right and centre that will help a lot. Although that was offset by BB's poor kick stats last week. Lions could have have also kicked a bit better.

I reckon one team will score one try more, probably the AB's, it may come down to penalty numbers.

Yeah definitely a big game.  I think Dagg struggled under the high ball (like a 65% success rate) and Ioane was OK but not stand out.  So it makes sense to put him back in his favoured wing, and he has played well there for the AB's this last 2 seasons.  I just dont know if Julian has it any more...  Big chance for Feketoa, have not seen anything like his breakout season, and being dropped last week surely should have motivated him!

Ben Smith also struggled last week under the high ball, conditions will play a part. Savea, he will need a BIG game to convince me he has the goods, I'd suspect he is on his last chance with the AB's, but who knows. Fekitoa needs a big game too, he hasn't impressed me for the Highlanders this season.

I've not yet had a chance to watch last weeks game, but with 15 on the field, would we have allowed the Lions in for 2 tries do you think?
