We also big time missed Coles, Ben Smith, Ryan Crotty to a lesser degree and a goal kicker.

See I'd say I felt Ryan Crotty was missed a lot, he is very much like Conrad Smith, he communicates well, and see's things that other players don't. He is dependable on defense and doesn't give away a lot of penalties.

If Ben Smith had been in that last game, we would not have scored the Laumape try as he wasn't tall enough to catch that BB kick I don't think. It was near the maximum of JB's 6.5" reach.

I thought Codie Taylor afforded himself well at hooker.

Yes true about Crotty and if he is out for the playoffs in super rugby the Crusaders don't win it.

I am hoping that neither of those things are true as a Crusaders fan, however, you may be right. This week will be telling.  I have great hopes for Jack Goodhue, I wasn't surprised to see him included in the AB's Squad.

Yes, and if he is injured they need to still keep Havilli at fullback also.

Not sure about this weeks game. They have to win to keep 1st place but do you play the front row and Whitelock?

Havilli has been a beast this year. I had my doubts early last season and the season before, but he has find the magic recipe to his game. I don't mind him playing at FB and Dagg on Wing.

But ... It's no excuse for the ABs.  You don't leave yourself in a position where one bad refereeing decision can cost you the game.

You kick your goals and you catch your passes.

IF the Lions threw straight from their lineouts there could have been at least 1 maybe 2 tries that went begging. Very similar to them dropping the ball in the ABs' 22 a few times in each of the opening games.

The resumption of super rugby will be interesting. Matching players who have had no game time for the past few weeks with players who have been operating at test tempo. Even the ones called into the ABs camp that didn't play will have benefitted.
A juicy matchup between the Hurricanes and the Crusaders awaits.

Congratulations to the Hurricanes who really should have had no chance against the Crusaders with their key players removed or moved. The Crusaders were lucky to avoid a yellow card for all the penalities they gave away, though I think the Hurricanes got away with Murder at the break down time and time again, and spent more time off-side than on-side in the second half, while the Crusaders were guilty of it, in the first.

It's an absolute shocker that that shoulder to the head wasn't yellow. I am really unhappy about that.

I think the Crusaders will be back to Full Strength next week and I expect a tight battle to be won by the Crusaders.

Last night I'd have played Seta at 13, Dagg at Wing and Havili where he has played his best Rugby ever, at Full Back.

I have been working all weekend so haven't seen any of the games, but I am pretty disappointed by the Crusaders as well! Now the Chiefs have to travel to the Republic for their next game.
I haven't had a close look but does it also mean that if the Lions keep winning the final will be in South Africa?

Yep. Lions home final if they keep winning. Otherwise be a canes or chiefs home final. Highlanders supporter here so not giving the crusaders a chance of a home final after this week :)

Thought the Laumape tackle was head vs head, maybe go back watch the upstairs review, thought there was nothing in it.  What annoyed me most about that game was the crusaders throwing the ball away, blatant as hell.  Not sure who but throwing it into the touch judge on purpose, professionally cynical...

Noticed a lot more of this from all teams, and  it should be punished as much as throwing it over the hoardings, as you've killed any chnace of taking it quickly.

The new format of the finals makes it more interesting, good for the Highlanders, who have 2 games in a row in NZ (obviously only if they beat the Crusaders) and a possibility of a third if the Canes can beat the lions in the semi.

What I saw was full impact of shoulder to head, and all season they have given yellow or worse for that.

Agree, thought it was clearly accidental and a good tackle, but still got him in the head / chin.

I accept it wasn't intentional, but the rules don't state if it's an accident you get away with it. It was a yellow card offense all day for my money. I am not saying it's win or lose for the Crusaders off the back of it, but consistency is important.

Normally throwing the ball away annoys me, strange I didn't notice it happening when I watched it.

TJP and Aaron Smith need to learn to shut their mouths, I saw it a few months ago mentioned in an Article and agreed at the time, but now I notice it and it's reallly embarassing how much chat our guys give refs. They have started to crack down on it thank God.

Just went and watched it again and the first replay angle when they are looking at it shows the best view with the tackle being made at chest height (comitted) and the crusaders player ducking into it.  And the second angle shows the crusaders players face protected by his own left arm up, from that angle (best view of players left face) it doesnt look like he even hit the head.  For me its what happens when you get given a hospital pass by the "best number 8 in the world"  - smashed him bro

Dagg did it on two occasions, but somebody else did the most blatant one of picking it up and throwing it into the touch judge from 1m away from him.

So, finally, Australian Rugby have come to their senses and left Quade Cooper out of the Bledisloe Series Group. Unbelievably, they have added Kurtley Beale. Next thing to happen will be to add all the other unstable trouble makers too.
