No they're saying it's time for SA to win a Super final. Unless the Lions have a shocker at kicking penalties from around the halfway line mark they're going to win. Crusaders have to think before they contest the breakdown from anywhere within 60m of their own try line.
And with the choice of Referee I will not be watching it.

I disagree. I think if the Crusaders don't run out of puff, if they can hold on, it will be close, but the Crusaders can win it.

The Crusaders aren't the only team who can concede points at the breakdown, and not the only team who can kick long range penalties.
Elton and Ritche are kicking at similar percentages I'd imagine, and I'd put money on the forward pack of the Crusaders doing ok.
Obviously, I am speaking from a position of hope.
They should be able to kick them with much less air resistance - But penalties have to be awarded by the Referee and the TMO ...
In many situations when both players are contesting the ball, a foul has to be called and in rugby, it usually can be called either way depending on whether you're looking with the left eye or the right eye ...
networkn:See they appointed another 3 SA referees this weekend basically coming out and saying it's merit based. Considering some of the furore over the decsions made last weekend, seems they would have been better to take away any question of bias, for a FINAL, by appointing a third party choice.

This, to me, is the ultimate two-fingered gesture by SANZAR to the fans. It wasn't right last year when Glen Jackson refereed the Hurricanes vs Lions and it's just as wrong now.
Crocked administration of a crocked competition.
(I checked carefully to make sure auto complete didn't change crocked to crooked!).
I don't often do this, but I have just emailed the CEO Andy Marinos to make my disgust known.

Is he going to read it?

Come on. Seriously. I don't see what the big issue here is. As mentioned, Glen Jackson was the referee to the Hurricanes-Lions final last year in Wellington. I can't recall a single Saffa moaning about that.
Personally I would rather have the best ref available for the job. NZ and SA have some of the best refs in the world and its no surprise that the ref could come from either SA or NZ.

You are entitled to your opinion. Sanzar have a long history of ignoring it's paying fans. Angus Gardener is a well-respected referee who is available for the match, and it takes away the appearance of impropriety. There was an uproar last week, they are aware of it.
There is no downside to a referee from a non-participating country reffing this game.
So, Damien McKenzie is being considered at half-back as cover. Interesting.
Not sure exactly what he said, maybe it's a hint he's not going to make playing 10 or 15 for ABs, or Hansen's not pleased with his halfbacks.
Or both.
