Dingbatt: Probably more being able to cover for Smith or Perenara if they get yellow carded for being mouthy to the ref.

Yeah, LOL. Could happen!

Watching the recorded super final match with sleepy eyes. Very dominating Crusaders from the start - I have no doubt what the result will be at the end of the match. No need to watch any further!

(Darn the issues with recorded matches, not as exciting as live ones)

Crusaders are being so dominating the Lions forgot how to play rugby. Doesn't bode well for the rest of the game.

Seems they only won by 8, and the other team was a player down for half the match. Going by the comments on the BIL tour when we were down a player, they were robbed!

So the Lions are true to their form and play their best rugby in the last 30 mins of the match. Unfortunately they were too far behind and a man short. Hmm ... If only they played with 15 then it could have been a cracker.

Yep, and if that did happen and we lost, the flurry of excuses will be there lol.

The Lions supporters can only lament what might have been. They were clearly the better team in the last 20 minutes, even with 14 players. So the affect of altitude and travel appears to be equal to one player. I disagree with @Batman about the Crusaders being all over the Lions in the first half. All the stats, except the one that counted (the score), were very even at the end of the first half. The difference was the Crusaders took their chances, the Lions bungled theirs. And the Crusaders played a smarter game than the Hurricanes the week before by conserving oxygen and slowing the game in the first half.
Once again a game of moments. Setting aside the red card for a moment, two crucial moments were Whitelock's lineout steals. One to prevent a try right on the goal line, and the other at the death, to prevent the Lions taking their last chance. Again, defence won the Crusaders the game.
I believe the Crusaders were lucky to be awarded Tamanivalu's try. He clearly received the ball in a an offside position. I have watched the replay about 10 times and he is ahead of the Crusaders player the ball comes off. That, and the fact Crotty was offside at the previous breakdown makes me believe the Lions were hard done by in that instance.
The red card, while regrettable, was the only option for the officials. Havili was actually lucky he landed on Taufua on the way down, or it could have been even worse.
The Crusaders were consistently the best team all season, even against the best other teams in the competition, home and away.
Deserved champions.

Wow, what a game! I was worried for the last 20 minutes, I saw the Lions up the pace and the Cruasders were falling off tackles. Ryan Crotty couldn't be overestimated in what he did, but it was an outstanding team effort.

I agree they were the best team all season and deserve the win. Without the red card it would have been interesting. I wasn't sure about some of those scrum penalties and a couple of the early ones, but Jaco had an ok game I think.

Go the Crusaders!

I have been reading interviews of Scott Robertson and what a great job he did managing the players in the final. Telling the players who were apparently off their feet  in the last 20 to break their game into two-minute increments.

God Matt Todd misses out again! Would be kinda interesting to see some stats between him and Sam Cane right now.

Actually found it.

Shag finally reached breaking point with Julian Savea, the writing has been on the wall, he needs to get his head right, but not sure what he can do to come back. I think it would take something special after all the leeway they have given him. DM is in, not hugely surprised, to replace Bender (that's a huge set of shoes to fill). Wonder what happens when Smith gets back from Sabbatical. Hard to see Smith at the RWC 2019 one would think though.

2 Half Backs and 2 Fly Half's I wonder who the third choice HB would be? Same with 10's.
