As long as people keep referencing it, when it's untrue, it will continue to be a "thing".
The cheaters thing keeps coming up too. Just because people say something, doesn't make it true.

tdgeek: AB's have always choked under pressure, they have that reputation in RWC's.
What a load of rubbish.
If we have ALWAYS choked under pressure we would have never won any close games in all of our history. We've won back to back World Cups with close games in the semi's and final.
Dont blame me, the chokers comment arises every RWC. Winning the last two might temper that, but its often been mentioned. Prior to the last two our record wasn't that great, below where our rankings would have it
No one I know ever says it, it is usually said by foreigners - do you get where I'm going with this?
You still said we ALWAYS choke in close games, again - rubbish.

Not to mention SO many games where we were behind 10 minutes from the end and came up to win. Think the final game of the season in 2016 where we went undefeated.
tdgeeks information seems about 10-12 years out of date.

It's been said a lot, more than a lot. Its a media topic every RWC. That's because they zoomed through like the great team and failed each time for many years. If RWC was a 3 test final, you would not see that. But when 6 weeks comes down to 80 minutes, people can crack, its human nature.
IMO it is true, its been seen over and over. Cheating, I don't buy that. You live on the edge of the rules, sometimes it doesn't work out. If you play 95% to be safe, you will rarely be successful
If you think the AB's are chokers, I question how much Rugby you have watched in the past 10 years. MUCH has been said about this teams ability to win under the most unlikely of situations. So many times we have clawed victory from the jaws of defeat.
I think if you label a team that can't win a RWC despite being in contention, then SA, England, Ireland, Wales, Australia are all chokers.
There can be only one winner.
Our win percentage rate clearly speaks to us not being chokers. Even if we lose this weekend, I don't think you would say we choked.

I didnt say close games, I said under pressure in RWC. RWC is huge, its a play off, and you are out. Off course few Kiwi's will admit to it, but its numbers, over and over. Unsure why over and over and over, foreignors would say that if it was clearly untrue. How can they get away with that every RWC without an outcry? Its an unfortunate fact of our RWC history
Its more of a fan club here than a discussion group, that's why EVERY comment that is not a salute to the AB's gets attacked

There was no RWC in 2015, maybe check your information is up to date. W
What has being behind in a game and getting up have to do with cracking under pressure in a RWC? Or cracking under pressure?

I can't take what you say about rugby seriously unfortunately. It's just wrong.

We have won the last two, great stuff. prior to that it was a drought. You cant compare other nations records to the AB's as the AB's are the top of the table and are the standard. Who said that if they lose any game they choked? I referred to the RWC where they have a reputation. Thats due to the pressure of a one off, winner take all 6 week effort. A one off super test. Given the outcry over the recent loss and SH and others comments, this is a big big test for them. They should win comfortably as they are a much better side. If they lose, and its by a better game plan and execution, that's the way it goes.

Why is it that every time someone disagrees with you in a thread, you give that response? Surely we are just as entitled to our opinions as you?
This isn't a fan club, but most Kiwi's who enjoy Rugby are probably AB's fans. The AB's get plenty of critisism and discussion here on their strengths, weaknesses and selection decisions. The reality is, that a loss isn't that big of a deal esp if it's "explainable" and there is a plan to fix it.
If losing becomes a habit, then questions get asked.

He didn't say anything about a RWC in 2016.
He was talking about going unbeaten in 2016
