That's a little frustrating, however, it is what it is. Our discipline or lack thereof, allowed the Stormers to remain in the game.

I have always felt the scrum was a lottery, but it's been a while since the Crusaders have won it.

I am a little worried about the Blues game this weekend. They are close to something special, and if they put it all together, they have the potential to cause an upset, esp with a disruptive week for the Crusaders this week.

You'd think tmo would bring more fairness to the game. But it's looking to me like overall there's little difference.

Batman: You'd think tmo would bring more fairness to the game. But it's looking to me like overall there's little difference.

My opinion is that the TMO should be better able to assist with issues because they have the advantage of multiple camera angles, more time, and should grasp the rules and be able to apply them as a result.

This was a particularly poor call. I haven't been able to find any other angle, but I disagree that it travelled forward OR went out of the hands forward.

Has anyone else here seen it that can shed some alternative light?

I was spewing about that decision - no way was it a forward pass. It definitely traveled forward in relation to the ground, but that does not make it forward pass - it's the direction it comes out of the hands, this was 100% backwards. Not what we like to see at 4:30 in the morning.

If you are running at 20kph and throw a ball slightly backwards, of course it's going to travel forward in relation to the ground even though it was released backwards.

Probably more than half the passes in rugby travel forward in relation to the ground, that's got nothing to do with whether the pass is forward or not. The TMO massively stitched us up on this one, IMO the ref should have asked to see the evidence on the big screen, and if he was not happy he can say no I believe that was OK, I'm sticking with my original decision.

It baffles me how we still constantly have these issues with the TMO despite all the procedures in place.

Crusaders can thank the Jags for beating the Canes or things might be a bit tight on the table.

I jumped into this thread for the Folau discussion, now I want to jump out.

So, is there any way to opt out of new post alerts in the participating panel of GZ Live (or am I stuck with them forever as I was involved in the thread discussion)?

There is a link to un-sub in the email - otherwise I think you can just 'unwatch' the topic at the top of the page.

Bit of a catch 22.  Make it free they lose revenue, plus FTA might be riddled with ads. Keep it on Paytv its losing viewers

Whats it like here? I've heard about low numbers in stadiums, but that's just annecdotal. Im not sure FTA can give the sport the same revenue that Sky does

Somewhat unlikely Sanzar would agree to play all games FTA. In fact, I could imagine Sky, Foxtel, Kayo, Spark Sport would all be against it.

Certainly, you could provide a number of games, perhaps 1 from each conference, each week FTA to whet the appetites, without unresolvable loss of income. TV Rights make up a HUGE portion of where Rugby gets it's income.

As a hard core fan, I rarely attend live, because I prefer the comfort of my armchair, ease to pause, replay, no obnoxious fans spilling beer on me, and commentary. I understand a lot of people enjoy it, and I have enjoyed live games, like the year I following the AB's around NZ playing Ireland.

I couldn't conceive of a season pass, though I have taken my son to games to give him the "live" experience, and he really enjoys it.

I have no desire to return to that era. Ever.

Hooper is the next generation player of his calibre in my opinion. I can't really stand the guy, but it's impossible not to respect how he plays the game. He is leading from the front, rarely has a bad game and is an excellent competitor. For the tah's he is everywhere. I watched some of the warratahs last weekend, and he was like 5 players. Possessed almost.

If there has been a more heroic defense in Super Rugby in recent times, than the one the Chiefs just showed, then I certainly can't recall it. 238 Tackles made with what could only be considered almost unbelievable discipline. Amazing. Take into account they probably don't have their first choice forward in almost any position for almost the entire season, and you are really talking about digging deep. Incredible.

The Reds will be crushed they couldn't convert.

By the stats they should have been clearly beaten.
The tide turned when Cane was replaced and they obviously missed Lienert-Brown from the backline.
People are talking about the Chiefs in the playoffs. After the injury toll this year, I’ll just be happy that they don’t finish bottom of the competition, and ecstatic if they they aren’t bottom of the NZ conference.

TMO was under intense scrutiny the whole game and I can't fault him to be honest. Initially, I thought we were in for a clanger, especially the number of times he was involved, however, I feel the decisions were sensible and correct. I missed the try where the player dropped the ball over the line, but there was clear and obvious separation and it should have been rubbed out and was. The bias of Richard Turner was a little offputting at times.

Other than that, all you can do is marvel at the grit shown by the home team in defence.
