Guys I am just curious here and have no idea of the RWC rules but in regards to the Japan win over Ireland how many of the team must be native to the country or is there no rule at all around that. I noticed or perhaps I did not notice the lack of Asian looking fellows in the team.
I don't care and they could all be Eskimos but I was just curious if there were any rules that anybody knows of.

There is no rule about being native (whatever that might mean). You just need to qualify to represent the country. To qualify by residency it's currently 3 years but going to 5 next year.
By Native I mean born to that country, Ok so they need to be a resident a minimum of 3 years to qualify. Cool thanks for that just wondered was all.

Batman: Penalty for running into upright tackler's neck. Can't make this stuff up.
It's one extreme to the other. First, they weren't punishing anything, now they are punishing the slightest thing. Maybe round 3 the balance will be right?

Nice to see the English favoritism continues:

By the flow chart it is a yellow card (contact with the head but mitigation from the US player dropping). Not sure how that is favoritism.
Because a) it wasn't sanctioned on the pitch in any way, and b) the Uruguayan red last night was very similar, in fact I'd say the Uruguay player was even unluckier as he was tackling falling player who was already being tackled by someone else.
Francis, by comparison, charged into the tackle area recklessly and made contact with the shoulder with no interference from any other player. Yet one was given a red and the other got off completely scot-free.
The Red Card to Uraguay was pretty questionable in my view.
I can't recall a time where every refereeing decision was being examined in such detail though. I wouldn't want to be a referee right now.
I thought Australia did an excellent job fighting back against Wales. I wasn't sure who would win till the final whistle. It looked all but over at half time, but I should know by now never to write off a team, especially the Australians. I did expect it to be close, but I think Wales were pretty ruthless first half talking a drop goal in the first minute and pretty much taking all points every time they were on offer.
I wonder if we will do the same?
Batman: This shall be the world Cup where the referee decides the pool, the knockouts and the winner.
Said that to a friend this morning. Referees World Cup. Thats the majority of the news. Refs. Either report more news or sort out the game
Rugby is transitioning into adult Ripper Rugby. I am losing/lost interest.
I am hoping the ball carrier penalty isn't a taste of what's to come. Hopefully, it was a one off. The number of fends involving the head and neck area, usually by players pushing from the side not even really looking, could be costly if they are policing that as well.
I hope not.
