Lol B Barrett showing why he can be a liability at times with his ball handling skills that last 20 seconds dropping it  on his way un marked 15 out after doing the hard work. ijiot. hes very much a great line breaker with a b grade kicking game and some terrible ball handling skills. definitely showed many times in that game why hes worth being in the team breaking the line open.

scott barett i could live without, he just clearly didnt grow up looking at the ball until its in the hands before moving on, clumbsy.

Handle9: Job done, easy win, move on.

meh, should have been 90-0

they still need to go over why they were making such simple school boy rugby mistakes. because top teams wont be so leanient. S Barrett laughs but hes a bit of a nothing between the ears player. yes BB running to open line and dropping it will become a Minties moment, but both final 20 mins of each half was rife with these kinds of basic errors.

so yes, but i think Handsom will be going over this game in the video room and giving a bit of a spray and also applauding some good plays but making sure they dont happen again because if that happens vs SA again in the final, it will be the Barrett bros who will be much disliked on return to NZ

24 degrees, 90% humidity. The All Blacks were deliberately over trained this week (as per their plan).

I can't work it out myself.....

A lot of the errors had to do with how fast they were playing in unfavorable conditions, apparently it was just the ball that was slippery but the players themselves, which got worse as each half moved on.

Those who questioned SBW inclusion in the AB's to defend the cup, should have all the answers they need now. He was probably the best on the park in my opinion.

Mo'unga great from the T and the combination with Barrett works I think.

Penalty count looked really good till that last 20 minutes. Somewhat expected under the conditions once fatigue really set in and the combinations got mixed up.

What happened with the prop subbed at 25 minutes?

I see the other prop went the whole 80.

Hansen said it was the plan as the other three would play against Namibia while Moli will have a break.

I'd say it's likely that Coltman, Tuipolotu, Read, Scott Barrett and Todd wouldn't be in the squad / have much gametime against Namibia.

Wow, what an interesting selection!

Jordie at 10 as was indicated sort of, TJP to cover 10 from the bench. I am thinking they are building some points by having stronger players in other positions in case the 10 is under pressure.

Brodies BACK baby!

I can't wait to see how this pans out. I am expecting a pretty strong performance. Praying that BR handles the game Ok and is more or less at full strength for the quarters.

yeah game shall be very interesting.

mostly slow forwards with fastest back line. I guess they prepare different plans to influence the games in quarter and hopefully further up :D

Namibia are predominately a forward orientated team, so I expect this is why they have their strongest wing combination together. I expect to see the ball out wide a fair bit.

This puts the whole squad on the right prep cycle moving towards the knockout games. I'd expect to see at least 13 of the starting side for the quarter final to play against Italy.

This is basically an opposed training run so it won't be perfect but, much like the Canada game, let's them keep trialing parts of their game plan in a full contact situation as they build towards peaking for the last 15 days of the tournament.

Just finished watching the second half of Russia vs Ireland.

What an effort from Russia! Seriously impressive despite the scoreline which doesn't feel even remotely a fair representation of the game. If not for the tries scored during two periods of yellow cards, Ireland would have been embarrased by the scoreline. If they play like that in the knock out stages, they will be gone in the quarters for sure.

Russia were awful in their two prior games but the defensive effort, the kicking, scrum was dominant, it was a performance they could be proud of despite the scoreline not reflecting it

Apparently the World Cup doesn’t have law 3.17 in effect, where if you go to uncontested scrums the player who causes it to go uncontested is unable to be replaced.

Also I’ve never seen it but Italy lucky not to have received a double red card, that was idiotic play. Took the contest right out of it after Italy had started the second half brightly.

The 4th red at the tournament equals 1995 and 1999 as the most red cards, not at halfway through yet and could easily had more.

If anyone is interested in a nuanced conversation about high tackles and concussion I'd really recommend watching the House of Rugby episode this week. Skip through to around 33 minutes until 41 minutes. It's quite a considered position from a players perspective and well worth a watch.

I know the French Top 14 play with 3.17 not sure who else does though. Happens so infrequently I cant see it as a big deal.
