I'd be inclined to drop BB to let him have a refresher. I wonder if Ioane is going to feature, it's probably his last chance to shine if he hasn't done enough already to be considered for the big games.

I thought Ioane was good in support last game.

@handle9 did you see something about a potential injury to Ioanes legs, or were you just surmising?

IMO If they are going to give him another game it would have to be against Italy. I cant see him getting a big game though, Reece and Bridge are both playing better than him and he wouldn't replace which every center they decide have for cover on the bench.

Yip, I think the side is pretty sorted in their minds now. I think it'll be:

Moody
Coles
Laulala
Whitelock
Retalick
Savea
Read
Cane
Aaron Smith
Mounga
Bridge
Crotty
Lienart-Brown
Reece
Beudan Barrett

Taylor
Tuungafasi
Taavoa
Scott Barrett
Todd
Perenara
Williams
Ben Smith

I thought Luke Pearce had a very good game refereeing CAN v SA with the exception that I disagreed with the red and thought it should have been yellow. Despite the fact the majority of the contact was with the head and the tackle being reckless, the contact was with the shoulder first, which because of the angle created a slide right to his head.

Other than that, his communication was excellent, he allowed leeway where it would help the game flow and not if it was clearly worth stopping for. All referees miss things, it's the nature of 30 players colliding at a million miles an hour for 80 minutes, but he has been amoungst the easiest to understand as well.

Some of the other referees there need to pay closer attention to that style of refereeing

I had a mild sense of satisfaction that Canada managed to score :)

I honestly thought that DTH van der Merwe should have been named man of the match in a losing effort. Canada were much better second half despite the numerical advantage.

Looks like England v France is going to be cancelled. So England will top the pool with France second. Means we'll face England in the semis if everything goes to plan.

Scotland looked lethal last night. Two half backs on was magical for them and their 10 had a field day.

Wales did well against Fiji. Fiji look like they aren't far off a serious contender, but as Scotty Stevenson said, I have seen less cards in a casino!

I am not sure Wales could triumph over the AB's England or SA on current form of all teams considering, but I would underestimate them at your peril.

WAL not great. A below par result. IRE beaten by Japan. Thats just one game but you would need many ducks in their row to get that. It makes me feel that Northern hemisphere rugby isn't that great, which means ENG may be less of a threat than I imagined. I dont like their kicking game strategy either.

Rumour now is that Japan Scotland might get cancelled, I was REALLY looking forward to that. SCO looks pretty not bad. JAP on a roll

Solid. Amazing Cane with his issues will possibly play the RWC Final.

Of those Savea has been the most consistently rampaging and reliable player in the team. Conversely B Barrett can be amazing and can also be a target for the high ball and losing it in play, a real rocks or diamonds player SOME games. SBW has looked a real menace when injected into the game and can back up a number of positions plus he has provided some try scoring setups/offloads which are very rugby league esque.

Im still feeling supremely confident. We just break the line so often whether its Savea or Beudan up in the line, we appear to have the stick over the other teams when it comes to backing up these players when they do crack the line. The only team imo that can beat us, provided we dont have a low possession game like the first half of the first Bledisloe is South Africa and we have already beaten them once, but Im confident that will be our opponent in the final.

France, wow, if it wasnt bad enough nearly conceding 20 points in the 2nd half to nearly lose to the Argies, to then win by 2 against Tonga. But after the Rainbow Warrior have no sympathy for the French.

Scotland could still qualify ahead of Ireland provided they get another bonus and Ireland doesnt. Tragic the highest scoring team of the group on ratio quite signifcantly may not qualify. And even more odd Ireland have 3 bonus but substantially behind on the points difference. I guess they got just enough, where Scotland must have slaughtered it in 2 games and not got the bonus in their loss. I hope Scotland qualify. By far the closest pool with the Argies being a let down and had some things gone their way should be qualifying ahead of France.

If they cancel the game between JAP and SCO, SCO will be kicked out, so they will want to play that game no matter what.

France are erratic, however, when they were playing well during periods of some games, they were magnificent, almost surreal. Was beautiful to watch.

Why is that?

Scotland top scorers in their pool still have a chance to qualify. That would be horrible.

I agree re North Hem rugby, looks piss weak. Look at the French, Argies should be qualifying but had a lot not go there way this world cup. I think hanging out with us and the other 2 green and gold teams is really lifting their game. But Tonga nearly beating France, omg. That would have seen the Argies through Im sure. 4-5 points in 2 games the difference between qualifying and not.

I fear nothing from Eng,they have nothing but metro sexual mohawks and fashionable skin stickers.

I use to support Eng in the Ashes living in Aus, after the Cricket World Cup final ending in a Draw (counting back arbitrary numbers is not good enough in a sport let alone one that size in a world cup final. there was no reason to either call it a draw or keep playing until one team scores more points) and the arrogant POMs refusal to entertain it being noted as a draw on the cup, I have lost/no respect for the country and have suqsequently renounced my Monarchist ways and hope Brexit totally destroys England for all time.

Why is that? thats the alert that popped up on my phone, assume its typhoon related

They cant cancel these, they arent dead rubbers, and they affect semis for some

There is a Typhoon due to hit Yokohama.

The ENG v FRA game is in doubt too (some sources saying the teams have already been told it is off.

The NZ v ITA game could also be affected.

I think having Retallick back gives them another line breaking option - he is awesome.

It looks as if the ABs (and others) have worked out how to nullify the rush defense. My only concerns are ball handling and yellow/red cards.
