That's not even remotely close to reasonable.
I would be seriously PISSED if I had booked for the week of the Semi/Final and found I was attending the quarters and semi instead.
that's why I said there should be contingency plan, like extra 2-3 days to play on if something goes wrong.
but canceling the game - is not a plan.

Would not you be equally pissed if you travelled half the world to find out game you got tickets to is cancelled and you don't have option to attend it week later if you wish too :)

It is a plan, it was the plan all along. They didn't pull it out of the hat today, it was announced weeks and weeks before the tournament that bad weather would mean they could have to cancel some games and what would happen with points.
Scotland will end up out of the Quarters, but they werent a contender for the cup realistically any way. I can understand the disappointment from their perspective, but overall, it's not really of any consequence.
Yes, having watched all the games so far, I'll end up with 2 less, including my team playing, but it's not the end of the world.
And before you ask, if the AB's were being eliminated this way, would I be pissed? Yes, and I expect Scotland fans to be pissed too, but if they were in this position it was because they lost in pool play...

No, not even close. I'd be super pissed for sure, but I'd understand rearranging a tournament by pushing games out a week isn't reasonable.
Teams with a reasonable chance to progress to the final are being catered for here.

NZ v ITA and ENG v FRA cancelled.
ABs will be a bit annoyed they didn't get to run their number 1 team out for a pre-QF hit out.
They do get an extra rest - I suspect some hard trainings in the next couple of days.

Was really looking forward to this weekends games :(
Me too. Gutting :(
Expect the Europeans to fire up about this; the Irish still having to play Samoa is a pretty big ask given the ABs are being rested. That will be an extremely physical, effectively extra game to have to play. English will be happy as they get out of playing, which seems fair. Scotland get their shot at Japan, which I suspect is less of a foregone conclusion than they would like to think it is.

Lets hope Scotland v Japan go ahead, that's the only one that really has a chance to change the top 8.

In terms of interest, it's the one game in the weekend I think is really open to an unexpected result, I am glad it's still on, fairest to Scotland. I think Scotland will win it, however with a 4 day turn around after what they did last last, anything's possible.

Particularly since the ABs game was at a reasonable time. We had a group of friends coming over to watch it on the big screen and have dinner. Grrr.
Seems a shame when the prediction of the path of these type of storms is an inexact science. Surely closer to game day would be better. Prepare people for the possibility, but confirm closer to kickoff.
I wonder when someone will blame Spark for the typhoon! ;-/

Very inexact. Direction, strength, speed, all very inexact. Instead if cancelling, tell us that they are likely to be cancelled, and wait. If it likely is mainly south it will weaken quickly, leaving the north as options. As mentioned a few days ago when it first broke. If this happened again, then we cancel the 1/4's and use countbacks? I think last year one started up behind another somewhere.
