Also, as predicted, the English media are having a sook about the ABs getting favouritism because they don't have to play Italy, while overlooking the fact that England are getting off playing France, where they also risked injury, red card stand-downs or however unlikely, a citing.
The next issue is it all turns out to be a flop. Tokyo Saturday is rain, yes thats possibly heavy, 40kph winds. Not saying we play there, but its hardly a force 5. other games are still on so why dont we re locate the two cancelled matches. Check Hokkaido weather Saturday, lovely day for a mid season picnic, mild, sunny, light winds

With Farrell playing a citing is always likely. ๐

Him actually getting sanctioned is about as likely as me getting cited during this world cup.
Unsurprisingly, some NH reporting seems to think the ABs should play an extra QF game when England isn't, and that the All Blacks should have a five day turn-around while others get additional rest time.
I knew the typhoon would end up being our fault somehow.

We said we would play today (possibly knowing thats too late to arrange) and that was declined, then we were offered Monday, and rightly so, that too late for us
Sapporo Saturday would work, or anywhere up north. Id rather get back to the game than cards this cards that, refs, wind. To much distraction

They seem to think if the ABs were in Italy's or Scotland's position they the IRB would move heaven and earth to make sure the game is played. ABs do have some pull being the best team in the world, but in terms of real power ($$$$) they are down the list.

The All Blacks are the biggest team in World Rugby and defending champions. I get that's a bit of a problem for some NH commentators who would prefer a NH champion, but I really don't see how they could argue the ABs should be playing an extra game and with a shorter turn-around to just to totally rule out the chances of some the perpetual Six Nations wooden spooners. It'd be like saying Lewis Hamilton has to do five more laps than everyone else or could only use one set of tyres for a race.
Unfortunately derangement when it comes to the ABs is nothing new in the NH, even if it's not in the best interests of the game; see appointment of Lions refs, 2009 ELVs etc.
I really don't care about the rugby pool games. I just want to watch the F1.

Looks like Monday was never a possibility.
"Categorically untrue," the World Rugby spokesperson said. "Monday was not on the cards. We have to treat all teams/matches fairly, not the few, and that was central to our contingency plans process relating to a dynamic and complex adverse weather situation."

Who do you believe? SH said he offered Friday they said no, they offered Monday he said no. Pretty darn clear , but now it was never the case? Media these days is BS
I don't believe Monday was ever on the cards. The AB's are not going to risk a shorter than normal turn around on preparation of a knockout match, against a team that has no chance of winning against them and for whom there is no change to the rankings or order of who goes through to the Quarters.
Everything NZR does, is to secure the RWC, anything that potentially jepordises this is going to be looked at in the dimmest of views. I fully support this position, as I do, Japans right to refuse to reschedule their match if required, because refusing to do so guarantees them a place in the quarters for the first time ever, during their host tournament. I agree offering to play Friday was likely acceptable to the AB's, but my view is Monday wouldn't have been considered.
For an event with as many moving parts as this, moving games, rescheduling, is a MASSIVE undertaking, and there will be deadlines for them to decide on what course of action to take. They must make decisions based on the information at the time that deadline approached. If it turns out the weather isn't as bad, it's no worse or different than if it had been worse than predicted.
The issue wasnt that, it was that the media stated Monday was offered, now apparently it was never offered. Who lied? Media or World Rugby? Obvious really.
Scotland team management is threatening with legal actions if their game got canned. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=12275509
this is getting serious now.
