networkn: Congrats to England who had answers to everything we threw at them. It was pretty slick. I am pretty disappointed. The ABs are still my team and win or lose I'll back them. An unfortunate way to see the end of so many distiquished careers but that's knock out football.

Except that we didn't throw anything at them. They had one of those off days. And I'm not sure why. There was no contest. The only points we scored were gifted to us. Congratulations England.

England we exceptional and played much better than we did up front. If you can't get the ball in the right part of the field you can't win.

England strangled us with pressure.

Batman:

Maybe Ardie needed Cane alongside.

I did not understand that choice to be honest, we needed both of them, 2 of the worlds best loosies with Ardie being capable of playing the role of any back position he is so talented.

Imo Ardie Savea was our player of the tournament and the only player in our team who played to his potential tonight.

I honestly still cant understand kicking the ball away when we need to score points.

Every other game we have held onto it and grind the ball forward combined with back line off loads into gaps. Speaking of which Mullet man had a good game to and had 2 epic offloads and SBW had 2 good offloads too.

If we has just kept the ball in hand and stared hem of posession and grinded to the red zone we would have scored like every other game this world cup.

We played into their hands essentially.

Thinking of BB's smile makes me feel like vomiting, over hyped flop who cant produce when we really need it. Should have played Smith.

I will take Savea as player of the Tourn, sickening SA will be in the final after we beat them by holding onto the ball and working it forward vs kicking for touch when a hard run to the centre 40metre would set up a long graft.

It’s 12 years since the ABs were anything but winners in a Rugby World Cup. I do hope that in those intervening years supporters have matured enough so if the ABs are bested in the the quarters, semis or final, they can accept that that is sport. It will be great if all the games in the knockout rounds are decided by a 15 vs 15 contest without undue influence by the officials, but I doubt that will be the case.

I would hope so but I doubt it. There tends to be an over estimation of our ability coupled with arrogance towards the other teams and discounting of their ability. The reality is that the Irish are a very very good team. They play differently to us but they are very good at what they do.

If they play at their best they have a very good chance of beating the All Blacks even if we play very well. If we lose this will be painted as being due to Keiran Reads lack of leadership or Ian Foster stabbing puppies or some other nonsense. The opposition will be ignored and it will be all about our failures.

New Zealand really needs to grow up with this stuff.

We did try to hold on to the ball when BB didn't have the ball.

Unfortunately 2 things would occur - we drop the ball, or we commit nobody to the ruck and conceed a turnover.

Correct impression about BB. At least try to kick for territory instead of trying to confuse a high school team with the bombs. But maybe it's the game plan?

Thats why Im so hard on BB and think hes a muppet at elite level rugby as somebody else said.

He needed to run the ball to centre pitch and with our loosies guarding every phase just graft that ball to the right part of the field.

Starve possession but at same time control the game. The in the right part of the field, unleash our strike force with set plays aiming at cutting a hole in the opposition line.

Nope, BB kick the ball to touch. Big time player. Muppet.

Well playing two 10s wasn't going to work, but hey that's the coach's decision. Sometimes they pay, sometimes they don't. The plan was to play sexy footy, we did that last week, but we played the boss level today and found that it doesn't work. Eddie and John has planned this for 2 years.

Oh shudder dont remind me I feel like throwing up. I think though Hansen should have raked him within the first 30 mins and put Smith in. He has better big game skills and experience and would have kept the ball in hand and ran the ball to support, FFS did BB think we were going to get an extra 20 mins or something. Ball in hand, graft and then unleash set plays with out key line breakers.

But it starts with the FIRST guy who gets the ball after their territory kick. DONT play their game.

Yeah I know, my point is given this was the biggest game he has played, and he was clearly not handling the Northern Hemisphere style and the fact they would chip over when he was up in the line, it would have been smart to have had our most experienced FB on the ready? We could have cut the Perenara interchange to fit him in the squad.

Looking at the interchange I think a lot of those players should have started as well.

Another player ourside Ardie who gave it everything was Jack Goodhue, I thought he played with 110% ticker.

What a time to falter again agh?

Boy we have missed out on so many world cups falling short the game before simply by not playing our own game, I think they were just overwhelmed. But will go down as another Cup we SHOULD have won.

Lol. You call players names and complain about a fullback with no support kicking out of his own end. Then you claim Hansen should have brought on someone who wasn't even on the bench.

Says it all really.

Ya posted too soon in haste of wanting to just attack others opinions but not state any of your own, read above. Just stop with the personal attacks.

State your opinion and move on.

Im not the only person who thinks there was an issue with the quality or lack of from that player tonight. He simply was out of his depth and didnt know what to do or how to handle it and instead of keeping the ball in hand which is NOT what Eng wanted us to do he did what they wanted and kicked it. END OF.
