Heh I thank my stars you aren't a selector for the RWC.

I meant after the RWC. Anyway, I remember a South African team but 4 years ago. Picking really old people ahead of young ones - didn't do too well. There needs a balance of course, but however great they are, and they will be remembered as such, but there comes a time to say enough. And after the RWC, it is finished.

I'd agree with after the RWC.

I did hear a little rumor that RM might play 1 more season for the Crusaders or join the coaching staff on a consulting basis.

If he does that would be a passion to hand over the baton. Really, if i had been beating my body for 2 decades and am rich enough to own an island, I could easily go and do something else if I didn't like it. (He is like a director of many companies, could just leave and make more money "directing"

You don't play enough Rugby to be the only player in the world to get 100 Super Rugby WINS and 100 Test Match WINS if you don't LOVE to play.

I think the amount of players the Crusaders lose this year, it would be good to have his guidance for another year.

I've been quite happy at the way the Crusaders played this year, on the contrary ;p

I wouldn't say I was that happy, but they had some GREAT games, and really fell just a few points short of another Finals berth where they would have done reasonably well I think.

They definitely found their mojo later in the season though sadly 1 game too late I think.

They led the competition in some interesting key statistics.

Their slow burn is something they have tried to work on for a few seasons, I am not sure what the issue is.

After singing Andy Ellis' praises earlier, I do think he was a part of the problem with his kicking. Drummond was definitely doing better for us there. Andy started to do better the last 3 games, but as I have mentioned before, his box kicking from the base of a ruck, is so predictable that other teams were just making inroads there because of it.

I do think the Crusaders allowed the Chiefs to bully them in their 2 games this year, the Chiefs spanked us TWICE, usually it goes one each way (though interestingly usually during away games).

The Crusaders were very good and I really the enjoyed the Crusaders putting weaker teams to the sword. They just couldn't do that against the stronger teams.

The main reason that they didn't make the semis was losing that first round match against the Rebels. If they'd won, they would then have pipped the Brumbies which would have given greater impact to winning that last round-robin game.

Yep I was pretty horrified at losing that game, at home no less! The Rebels seem to have a bit of a voodoo on the Crusaders for some reason. I am hoping they can fix the issues.

I am interested to see how they go next season having lost so many senior players. More than any other franchise I think. 10 will be our biggest loss.

Not too far away from heading into town for a feed and a pint, then to a sold-out cake-tin to hopefully see the Hurricanes put away the Brumbies.  Is this finally our year?

Thanks for explaining "plethora".

It means a lot.

All kiwi super xv final! What could be better?
Even without the (technically correct) penalty try the Highlanders still way better. Naholo and Osborne's tries superb and even a first five who can kick drop goals.

Really looking forward to next weekend.

The right teams made the final, am pleased. I have a win win for next weekend. I just hope we don't lose any key players to injury.

Thought that Aaron Smith had a pretty average night, and thought Yellow + Penalty was too harsh. Penalty try was the right decision. No yellow for my money.

I thought the Hurricanes game was reffed the best I have seen all season.

Lima is worthy of AB's contention. The past season is the first time I've thought TJP was a worthy second choice to Aaron Smith.

Certainly agree that the two best teams are in the final. As a 'canes supporter I am chuffed but I really admire the way the Highlanders play their rugby. Much like us, actually!

What a final it will be with both teams playing open running have-a-go rugby!!

Interesting how both Aussie teams were put away convincingly last night and that there were no SA teams there at all.

So, Go the Canes. But if we are beaten next Saturday, I will be least upset by it being by the Highlanders.
