I do respect RM and DC, but I will say that they are both untested in the Test arena this year. Maybe all the calls about their abilities are a bit harsh in super rugby, but you cannot say that they will be dominant in the RWC. If either of them is our first choice 7 and 10 and are performing below par, the opposition has a sniffing chance of knocking us out at the knockouts. Remember in the last knockout, RM played with a broken foot and we were down to our 4th choice 10 and we won it by a whisker (their 10 missed a sitter of a penalty at 7-8). Luck usually don't come round twice.

But that's why we watch the matches, because you don't know what will happen until it's played.

There is one more thing, since 2012, the referees have been penalising RM much more in the 50-50 situations. If that happens in the knockouts the penalty counts will stack up. RWC KO is NOT Super 15. But let's see ...

If you think it was luck that won that final we were not watching the same game :)

RM was the reason for that win, of that I have no doubt. I don't think we would find ourselves in an identical situation again, but if we did, I'd back RM to get the same result. Even if we do lose at the RWC, it's not the end of the world, doesn't mean we took the wrong team, knock-out Rugby comes down to the best team ON The day, or reffing decisions often.

Actually technically Donald duck was responsible for the win, unless RM kicked that winning penalty? It was a lot tighter than it need be based on NZ form.  Like I said The game next Saturday will be very interesting.

It was Ritchie who decided to keep ball in hand for those last 8+ minutes and it was him leading the pack in keeping the ball away from the French without giving away a kick able penalty. Obviously the last points came from the penalty which was converted by Donald, but the game could have easily been lost regardless of that.

Interestingly Ardie rated pretty low in this table, though it's not scientific...

As did Sam Cane, although he was the highest openside in the list.

Pretty hard to argue with what they came up with really. I think of the new caps, not only will Naholo be in the squad for the world cup, we might see him cement a spot on the right wing. There's no substitute for speed.

You might be right, though I still think Ben Smith should be on the Wing. I'm still inclined to see Dagg at Full Back, his boot has got us out of trouble a number of times in games. He is also a very good goal kicker. Obviously will depend on his injuries and match fitness.

Yeah, but is Dagg fit? He's had so little rugby and the 5 tests before the world cup doesn't give him a lot of time to come right. Clearly you need Savea and Smith on the park though.
