Shoulder to shoulder contact then slipping to the head is a clear yellow card under the framework. There isn't clear evidence to change the ruling so it's straightforward.

The angles I saw showed direct contact to the head. At the very least from what I saw it was simultaneous contact. The contact with the head was at least as much force, probably more, than the red card offense earlier in the game.

It's not definitive so the ruling on the field stands. It has to be absolutely clear that the ruling on the field is incorrect, which it isn't.

Hooper has a long history of dubious off-the-ball play. I reckon he would have gone if he wasn’t the captain. If he played to the law, he would be 70% of the player he is otherwise.

Really cool world cup draw.

France in the pool games and then South Africa in the quarters. Hopefully I'll get tickets in the ballot and can go to the pool game against France.

Concussion has claimed another Victim with James Parsons retiring from Rugby effective immediately.

I do not like the new SRA Rugby away jerseys. They are awful.

Andrew Makalio is out of SRA, which is a real shame. He has been getting better and better.

I guess because they are both Rugby World Cups. Probably better than calling it the Rugby World Cup and the Men's Rugby World Cup.

Yeah, I guess it's completely unreasonable to call it the Mens RWC and the Womens RWC. It's not like that fits with totally normal social norms and prevents confusion and ambiguity!

Imagine if we had Mens toilets and Womens toilets so as to avoid any confusion. Oh wait...

Who really cares? They aren't being run in the same year so it's hardly confusing.

Don't say anything against it because you are not allowed.

But ultimately with most things the final result will be different from what people thought it will be.

I am puzzled by Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's decision to switch to Rugby after captaining the Warriors. Not many players at that late stage make a successful switch, and whilst I do think he is a pretty decent athlete, apparently, the AB's would want him in the centres where there is already a logjam of players. We are pretty much covered in the backs with the exception of 9 which we really need to do something about, but I don't see much coming though that replaces Smith. The Blues are the logical choice from a close to home perspective, but honestly, despite doing better right now, they don't have a hugely stellar record of player development recently, and I suspect these "marquee" signings don't do much for their title chances in reality.

I hope for all concerned I am wrong, but I don't see this ending very well.

I think he'll probably be successful, he's a quality outside back and there is a strong track record of players changing codes in the outside backs. Arguably the best back in the world at the moment is ex league (Radradra).

It does seem a pretty poor use of resources by NZR. They complain about not being able to retain players and then spend significant money on a league player. I don't think he'll be on his Warriors salary but he won't be moving for $100k.

Radradra played Union and was a Fiji U20 and 7s player before going to league.....so its fair to say he was a Union player who's had a stint in League. Regardless, he's a great player in both codes.

I think RTS should go okay, but going to Auckland will be his biggest problem. Blues have a fairly decent backline so who would he bump out. They also have poor development as has been witnessed by the number of players who leave and become AB's, or the other high profile League players who have failed there.

NZRugby would have no problem with him coming across as it would be a great coup, pick up interest and possibly new fans. His salary at the Blues would be offset by the massive amount of marketing they could do.
