afe66: I really enjoyed the highlanders game.
We won't make the finals but we played well.
History says otherwise 😁
And after his 6-finger banjo player type comment, Andrew Merhtens will not be welcome south of the Waitaki river!

It's looking like Blues - Highlanders at Eden Park unless something very strange happens.
Yup, we had our chances to win it with a bonus points and at least 33 points. A lot of uncharactistic errors, including a couple of shockers.
Congrats to the Blues and Highlanders for making the finals. It will be a clanger. I am faced with taking my son, a Blues supporter, to the final :)
The Force have been extremely entertaining to watch. They have played some great Rugby and showed a lot of determination in denying both the Crusaders and Blues a bonus point after very slow starts to their games.
Tate McDermott surely must be included in the Wallaby annoucement tomorrow, he has an excellent pass, and does some really interesting things with his first actions with the ball.
Right after saying AU referees have been better than Kiwi ones, comes some absolute shockers in the Chiefs Warratahs game. The yellow card was farcical and if that Red card was indeed red card, then Lomax will be spending the rest of his life on the sidelines :)
Sean Wainui becomes the only player in Super History to score 5 tries. He owes Stevenson a beer or two for running the entire width of the field to set it up for him.
For the fact that the Warratahs went winless in 2021, which is bad enough, there are some good things showing up. Despite leaking 40 points their defensive structure was better. They have had a *horror* injury run, pulling from 2 levels down to get players at times. Their clean out work was pretty accurate and they made the gainline with a good percentage of their carries. It's certainly not all bad.
Rennie will be wondering if he can form a team at this point with all the injuries to key Wallabies. At the very least it will allow him to blood some new young players.
Sean Wainui had one of those magical ‘right place at the right time’ games. One he will no doubt dine out on for years. Although the win looked comfortable on the scoreboard, the game itself was messy. Lineouts were a lottery for both teams, as was who was to be penalised at scrumtime. And (although yellow carded at one stage) Boshier saved the Chiefs blushes with multiple breakdown steals at vital junctures.
The officiating was pretty average, bordering on awful. Vaa’i’s yellow card was a farce. So much so, that even the most one-eyed of Aussie commentators were scratching their heads. What’s next? Every scrum getting penalised because there is shoulder to shoulder contact (with force), where the players ears touch? (/s)
While I recognise the Warratahs have been hit with injuries, before and during this game, the second half particularly started to resemble an American Football game. With long breaks and trainers on the field every time there was a stoppage in play, while the players caught their breath.
It was clearly a fifth placed team playing a tenth placed team kind of game.
In the end the SRTT competition has been about who can maximise their performance against the Aussie teams. One slip up and you’re gone. One, dare I say it, close game, with all the excitement that brings, and you are struggling and relying on other results. Even when the game isn’t close, as happened the the Crusaders yesterday, you are still toast. Ennor is probably still reliving that dropped ball with only the tryline in front of him.
With all the NZ teams so close, it’s a shame the only team that won’t make a final this year is the Hurricanes.
Edit: Oh, and the Blues are going to need to play more than 40 minutes of rugby next week if they want to beat the Highlanders.

The Wallabies squad looks pretty decent
Handle9: Brandon Ennor has taken the worst try butchering title from Reiko Ioane...
I'd say most people would consider bungling a certain test level try was worse than bungling one at Super Rugby level :)
Probably only Crusaders fans will care, the rest of you will be glad as it means no Crusaders v Blues final.
Both were awful :)

The degree of difficulty was higher for Reiko - Ennor's was bizarre.

ROFL. Is that why he tried to place it with only one hand?
I am actually genuinely shocked the citing comissioner hasn't wanted to take another look at Lomax's tackle in the weekend. How that could be yellow given the other rulings this year, defies belief.

Putting the ball down is more difficult than just holding it. Both were awful.
I don't forsee any bolters in this upcoming AB's Squad, unless we end up with a pretty injury heavy final. We are pretty full up on backs right now. Even with Cane and Savea (potentially) out, I think we have enough players who have been there or thereabouts in the loose forwards.
From the Maori team named the only possible bolter, who was eligible for the Maori, could be Zarn Sullivan
