I didn't watch that one - there's only so many hours in the day to watch rugby.

Yup, I pretty much FFWD all non playing bits, takes the games down to about 30 minutes, for games that I'm not fully invested in.

If I don't watch it live I probably won't watch it. It's the main reason I don't watch much super rugby, evening games are in the middle of the day here which is usually family time.

I am fortunate that I have a very understanding wife, our weekends are usually planned around whatever sport is being played or watched, it helps my MIL, FIL, son and to a much lesser degree are all Rugby fans too.

96% tackle completion is pretty good. Penalty count I'd really like to see drop under 10. Foster wanted micro-skills improved, I think that happened in spades. Some of the hands in that game were really impressive, reminded me of us a few years back. I am still not that happy with our in game kicks, which tend to be a little aimless and not that compete-able. RM's kick to the wing was pinpoint. I was surprised he didn't take the line as much as he does for the Crusaders, he mostly distributed that game.

Apparently, for the Lions against the Lions, when the SA Lions were camped out on the BI Lions line, they made 46 tackles, didn't miss one. I was impressed at the BI Lions skill sets, it certainly wasn't Gatball on display there, though I understand it's a festival warm up game for them as well, and tactics may change.

Man, some of the English players are absolute monsters. Underhill looks like a tank and their 12 that played in the weekend, looks like a prop!

Israel Folau continues his campaign to burn bridges behind him. Catalan give him a lifeline and then give him leave to go home over COVID. He then publicly announces he's going to play rugby league for Southport Tigers without telling Catalan. Now he's announced he's off to Japan without telling Clive Palmer who was bankrolling the campaign to get him registered for Southport.

He really is a piece of work

They play a very physical brand of rugby. They weren't as fit as the southern hemisphere sides in the past but now they can compete.

Be that as it may, if not for repeatly being able to turn Teo around on defense a few times, it would have looked a very ordinary scoreline between the USA and England over the weekend.

It was their B team and they tried a few things out. I would read about as much into it as the the All Blacks Tonga game.

The France Australia test was suitably bonkers. France really have a gift for losing unlosable games. Saying that it was mostly 2nd and 3rd string players straight out of isolation. They really do have incredible depth now.

I think the Lions tour is almost over. SA have a number of players who have tested positive and now the Lions has a staff member who failed a lateral flow test with a number of players in isolation. SA Georgia has been cancelled with players on both sides testing positive.

I think honestly, I was almost expecting something like what happened in that last movement for the French.

France started that game with some seriously nice movements and cut the Aussie defense to shreds. To AU's credit they did turn it around somewhat, but a fair amount was how heavily penalized France were. If Frances discipline had been even 10% better, I think it would have been out of reach somewhat earlier for Australia.

France looked fairly tired by about 65 minutes. Next week should be interesting.

Hooper looks full of energy after his break away.

I always find the Haka to be quite an awesome thing to watch the AB's perform, but last week against Tonga, I really felt it. I haven't felt that level of intensity in it for some time. Coles leading it was cool.

I think it's also pretty cool that Aaron Smith will captain, and likely lead the Haka. I am pretty over the references to his indiscretion in every news report mentioning his name though. He made a mistake, paid the price, everyone needs to move on.

Another year but the same issues. Passive and highly inaccurate in the forwards again.

The backs looked pretty good but until we get a decent forward pack we're not going to be consistent.
