It's about each individual executing the basic skill sets well in their position, then you'll perform well as a team, and the playmakers taking the right options & executing them accurately, Ireland are, we are not... so yeah, they are not doing anything special.

By that that definition the 2015 All Blacks were profoundly average.

Hmmmm, yes, assistant coaches; they were the problem. Not the woefully unqualified head coach that's achieved absolutely nothing at any level of the sport, and selected said assistants.

Yes, probably the greatest, most dominant team of all time; nothing special

Do better bro.

Wasn't Foster in charge of the backs, and attack in 2015?

MikeB4:Maybe full contact Rugby etc should be replace with touch rugby.

Touch rugby already exists. You are proposing rugby be banned?

I know Touch Ruby exists I have played it. If Rugby NZ does not take the problem more seriously and the sports considerably changes then maybe the government will need to regulate through health and safety. It is a serious issue.

If they aren't going to ban Martial Arts, Boxing etc, then they won't be doing the same to Rugby.

Then Rugby World wide should be better and self regulate. Stop mauls, full body tackling and scrums. If they don't then maybe schools should act and ban it.

What would World Rugby call itself? World Standing In A Field And Yelling At Each Other?

Rugby League has no scrums or rucks and mauls, neither do Football or American Football.

The game could do away with scrums, mauls, and hard tackling and become a very fast moving game. The current tackle could be changed to a safer hold doing away with the hard tackles etc.

The current game is resulting in life altering and life shortening injuries. Rugby in its current form puts considerable pressure on the health system.

That'd be the same NFL that has pads, helmets and yet still has a massive CTE issue?

Your proposals would effectively turn the game into Rugby League, so what would be the point of rugby?

I'm keen to know what a 'safer hold is' considering that going lower in tackles exposes players to knee-to-head contact, which is an issue the previous 'tackle below the hips' rule proposals encountered.

Rugby League still has *massive* hits and concussion issues.

The answer is to eliminate the big hits entirely

You are missing the point. There has been no visible development of the team for sometime. Essentially they are running largely the same attack and defence with the same players. That's resulted in progressively worse results.

Dropping Taukeiaho was probably the worst symptom of that. If they had shown some courage they would have started him instead of playing Taylor but instead they went back to the same old players and got the same old results.

The lack of player development under Foster has been pretty alarming.

Was Taukeiaho likely to change the outcome of the series? He played the first two tests.

I agree, we need to be giving the new players game time, but if we intend to take Taylor and Coles, they also need game time. The issue we have in NZ is that we can't tolerate losses, so it semi-forces the coaches into less risk-taking. SA recently put a development team on the field, said so, they lost, and not much was said about it. They didn't call for his head. To ensure the series win the next week, he played the older, more experienced players because those guys can get the job done. To be honest, I was pretty shocked we didn't win that third game. I expected the AB's to really be totally fired up, but we just let Ireland get up over us.

We have blooded a lot of new players under Foster. I am not sure the exact numbers, but many have had a reasonable amount of game time (a lot due to Injury and Illness etc). We have the least experienced team for quite some time in terms of caps.

I agree we need an updated attack strategy. Given Foster was in charge of attack during one of the most dominant periods of the AB's, it seems strange we haven't adjusted our game significantly.

I really hope that Foster can turn this around. I hope Jase Ryan helps improve our forwards play, it's quite a loss for the Crusaders.

James Marshall to join the Crusaders as an assistant coach. I don't know that much about him, but he has been an assistant at Tasman for 3 years so that is a reasonably good start I'd imagine.

They are going to need to fill the role Jason Ryan has left, I wonder who they will look at for that.

Clearly was a shocker for them to use those assistants as scapegoats.
