I think it's funny you'd accuse me of being part of a small group that could create an echo chamber. Pot meet kettle.

You went on and on and on about the fact Robinson and NZRU behaviour was fine toward Foster, crickets after they mentioned 6+ times in that announcement video that they should have handled things better.

I agree that the team shows a lack of ability to adapt under pressure, having said that, it's rarely a skill learned without pressure, and takes time to develop.

The AB's of the past learned it, they didn't just click fingers and magic it up.

This was a suggestion, not sure what the accusation is?  In regards to Robinson/NZRU I have never said things could not have been handled better (please quote me), all I pointed out was that you have not provided a shred of evidence to support him being responsible, the best you had was a Herald Click bait story 🤣. Less skim reading, and more getting to the facts!

In regards to AB's of the past comment, they did though didnt they.  This is why this group owns the record that they do, not to mention a large percentage of from the Hansen era.  I will drill it home again

- The centres are rubbish

- Cane is a pretender

- 10 Barrett is better, but every 10 needs a platform - Richie showed how average you look without it, but he is a close second, and so I say good luck to him - but make your kicks!

Lol. I’ll continue to post whatever I like, if you don’t like it that’s your problem.

No not that I dont like it, just that you would be better served having a thread where you can talk to just each other and keep hitting you +1's back and forward 😂 but wasn't suggesting you cant post here, nothing better than having your incoherent rugby ramblings 👍

Just wondering, are you familiar with Wheaton's law?

You are pronouncing "I was wrong" incorrectly. :)

Mark Robinson & the rest of the NZRU Board don't want to be proven wrong, as they're too arrogant to get rid of Foster... so we have a head coach that doesn't select our best starting team, it's incredible that both Cane & Smith didn't get dropped, a few others have to looked at too.

We have dropped to our worse ever ranking of 5th... if we lose to the Argies on the weekend we'll drop to 6th, so bloody crucial we win, and win well, so we get some credibility back in the black jersey.

Foster doesn't select the team in a vacuum.

You are overstating Smiths issues. It's not like Christie has changed the game when he is taken from the bench.

You should apply for the job. You clearly know a lot more than Foster and Schmidt and Ryan, even though they work with these players day in and day out :)

Considering the team selection I can’t help thinking NZ will drop out of the top five this weekend.

Who would you select?

This is largely the same team that beat SA at Ellis Park?

What selection changes would have made you feel differently?

My opinion. Individually the team has the skills and experience to win, however ruby is not an individual sport it is a team event and a team is only as good as it’s leadership.

Yeah, Schmidt & Ryan will give Foster advice, but Foster will chose the starting 15 he wants as he has the final say as head coach.

How am I overstating Smiths issues ? ...only have to watch how he's played in Super Rugby & now at international level this year, his passing game is much slower, he doesn't run to put the defence in two minds, & box kicks too much, but has cut back a bit on those kicks lately, which is good to see at least... we need a 9 that can add a lot more energy to our game at halfback, either replace him with Weber or Fakatava.

If we're going perform better as a team that clown Foster needs to be given the flick, and let Schmidt & Ryan run the team.

Smith and Christie had exactly the same number of runs.

Smith kicked 4 times. I’d need to check but I’m pretty sure they were all from exits and effective. What would you have had him do on each of those kicks?

The criticism of the backs is pretty funny, especially Ioane. When he’s had space he’s played very well this year. His defense has been excellent as well.

The forwards aren’t winning the gain line and our back play is still very lateral as they haven’t got space and are shoveling. When we win the gain line and create space and we look ok.

Ioane has improved a lot, I agree his defence has been very good this year. His distribution skills are still poor.

From the stats breakdown I saw, we are actually winning more collisions and making the gain line much more frequently than we were 3 tests ago. What is actually hurting us, is that it's almost like we aren't expecting to make the gain line, so our cleaners aren't there, and the gainline player gets isolated and turned over. We have improved, but we have a ways to go. I would say, at least for 40 minutes, the quality of our cleanouts has improved significantly (when we get there, which isn't often/fast enough).

I agree we are still prone to lateral movement and desperately looking for a hole that requires a miracle play to create points.

For the first 40 minutes of the test last weekend, I thought we were showing good signs and creating pressure and accumulating points, the second half it felt like we switched off. Penalties and discipline really cost us.

I hear things like “this is improving,” “that player is doing better”. “The team is gaining this and that and improving here and there. However the performance over 80 minutes and results do not reflect this.
The All Blacks are supposed to be the best that Aotearoa has to offer in every position including coaching and support. The All Blacks are not supposed to be the training division they should already know what is required have the skills and use those skill at every outing. The place for player development is in the championship and Super Rugby.

This of course is my impressions. I don’t employ senior account directors and expect to train them in the basics, they are paid to already know and then employ those paid for skills consistently.
