NZ public don't expect the ABs to win every match, that would be impossible for any team to do... what NZers do expect is for the ABs to play good quality rugby consistently, do that and we win a lot more than we lose, especially with the fast paced game we play.

I want us to win the RC - players should earn a starting spot and their places on the bench, not just given a start for experience, need to get the balance right, a team only plays really well when all the combos have had plenty of game time together, then you play at your best as a unit.

Bold 1, they do, otherwise there are refs etc to blame

Bold 2, that will apply to many upper Teir 1 nations

The rest of your comment makes sense. I also what us to win the RC but its been a joke. Any team can win any match. If it was a "real" Championship the cream rises to the top, but it hasnt.

Of course we all would like the ABs to win every test, but it isn't realistic... all teams in any type of sport are never going to achieve that.

I'd expect more from the ABs than any of the other teams though - as mentioned before we have a better win/loss record than the rest & were always the team to beat... with the NZRU selecting the wrong coaching staff it has really stuffed up the team, but Schimdt & Ryan are doing a top job trying to fix these problems.

If you’re convinced it’s all a joke why are you watching? Would you bother?

don't watch the games?

"Haven't watched it, but I see we got a late penalty for them kicking to touch too slow, so we got a try off that. Yellow cards galore. Glad I didnt watch it. "

No. We got a scrum feed. It's not a penalty offence. But then if you'd watched the game you would know that and your comments would be more relevant.

ABs still had to win the scrum and score the try, which they were good enough to do and the Aussies weren't good enough to defend.

This seems to escape everyone's attention. The referee didn't hand the game to NZ.

Jordies offloading game and size are likely of benefit, but I don't think his kick game is suited to the midfield specifically, I guess we will see.

Not a problem, J.Barrett has a good varied kicking game.

Other than showing good discipline, our players need to read the way the ref is interpreting the rules, don't want to get pinged too much.

That was fun. Australia competed for 30 minutes but the early cards took their toll.

It’ll be interesting if Seve Reece gets cited for the head on head tackle.

I thought that at the time, but given he didn't jump into the tackle, and he's about a foot shorter than Hodge, I think he'll be fine.

Jordie was outstanding at 12. Lock him in there. I thought they may have started Jordan at 15 and given Reece a start on the wing, but Beaudie was excellent at the back.

The starting props are light years ahead of the reserves that were named tonight. Samesoni is miles ahead of Taylor and Coles. Taylor was average again. Get the young Canterbury hooker in asap.

It was definitely head on head with force. If they determine it was direct contact, which it may have been, he should be up on a charge. He’s made no effort to get low and exploded up into the tackle.

Not sure the ABs have learned to use Clarke to his full capability yet. He's had relatively little game-time at the top level, partially through his own choices, granted, but given the turbulence in the current squad I think people have to be reasonable.

He's played 9 tests. In a lot of ways his trajectory could be like Jordie Barrett who took 20 tests to become consistent. He may not get there but he's worth persevering with, he can do things many other players can't do.

Clarke was much better tonight. Most importantly he was dominant in the air, which is a major strength for him.

Rapt the ABs won the RC, we played a lot of good rugby... disappointed we didn't really punish them when they were down to 14 men twice in the first half.

Top job in general by the forwards, and we have a ton of pace in the backline, especially through B.Barrett, R.Ioane & Jordan.

J.Barrett should be starting from now on at 2nd-five - we now have a midfielder that can consistently get us over the advantage line & has good all-round skill sets... JB played really well for the Canes in the midfield, so no surprise for me that he had a top game for the ABs at 2nd-five.

Yeah, Clarke shows excellent technique with his aerial skills... the bloke was better overall because he was far more solid in defence, wasn't rushing out of the defensive line this time.

Good win, AUS looked good for a while then capitulated.

"Irish referee Andrew Brace had a frustratingly busy night, blowing up for 29 penalties in 80 minutes, as another test stuttered from one stoppage to the next." And 2 yellows and one penalty try.

RSA and ARG the same. From what I read ARG conceded 22 penalties (I think thats ARG and not total) and 2 penalty tries, that game had 6 yellows.

Its not a great watch when so often its stop start and time lost due to all the infringements. There are times where the clock is stopped, but a lot of game time is lost when its not stopped.
