I wonder what the outcome of this will be:
What are the options? If NZR pulls the name off Jersey what would be the financial consequences? If NZR hasn't breached it's side of the contract, presumably Altrad would still be on the hook for their financial obligation, but I am not a lawyer.

Handle9:
Altrad are paying to have their name on the jersey. If they don’t have their name on the jersey why would they have to keep paying?
I presume that there are morality and reputation clauses in the contracts in both directions. Altrad is in the wrong here and why should that disadvantage NZR?
New sponsors of this size aren't a dime a dozen, and Altrads error stands to cost NZR significantly if it no longer wants to associate with them through no fault of it's own.

Handle9:Handle9: It’s really quite amazing how Rassie Erasmus has destroyed his reputation. South Africa were such a great story in 2019 but his constant bleating about referees have destroyed any semblance of goodwill towards them. The sooner he disappears the better.
Aaaaaaand he’s banned again. Muppet.
Handle9: The successor is Borthwick. He was going to be Jones successor after the World Cup anyway.
They have to go through the process of getting him out of his Leicester contract which will take a few days to arrange compensation. Leicester have always said they won’t stand in his way but they will need to be compensated and probably won’t let him take Sinfield.
Richie Mo'unga to leave NZ for Japan Post 2023 Tournament. Widely expected, but 3 years is a long time.
A shame to lose him but can't really blame him. He hasn't reached the lofty heights at International Level that he has in Super Rugby, but is still the best or second choice 10 in NZ by a country mile and with BB all but certain to retire post-2023 from test rugby at least, we are facing a bit of a gap at 10.
I'd consider Foster unlikely to be kept on after the World Cup even if he wins the RWC, but I agree with Hansen, that the appointment process of new head coach is a bit of a tough one to crack.
If they recruit and announce prior and Foster isn't part of the conversation or loses out after applying, it stands to have an impact of the teams performance, regardless of whether in an ideal world it should or not.
If they don't start the process early, they stand to be picking from those who are left, rather than those who might be best suited.
Foster will be aware he is an outside chance at best, and perhaps NZR need to be brave and let him know they won't appoint him win or lose after the RWC, early, so he has time to adjust, and saves him wasting time applying for it, and can focus on doing the best job he can be between now and 2023.
If they appoint early, the new coach should be on gag order until after the RWC. The last thing any current coach needs, is background noise from the heir apparent.

Would that make him eligible for a Pacific Islands team (if he has appropriate heritage) in the 2027 RWC?
And Frizell likewise available for Tonga?

Mo’unga would be eligible for Tonga and Samoa and Frizzell for Tonga.
That will be a very tasty prospect for the Tonga and Samoa coaches
Mark Robinson has made yet another comment about his regret for how they handled the Ian Foster Coaching situation mid year.
I'd like to think they would do it differently next time and have 'taken learnings' from it, but evidence shows that NZR are appallingly slow to learn from their mistakes. Having said that, I do see some positive signs.
Sam Whitelock on GBR this week. Just a lot of fun.
Thanks for sharing that! Awesome.
I really like Sam Whitelock.
