I lost a huge amount of respect for him over his anti refereeing shenanigans.
yeah that was the bit I was getting to but some how posted early.
not exactly finesse, but since when has Sa ever been a country of no shame. Politically they are not flavour of the year.

I think super rugby squads are announced this week?
They are. I see both Crotty and Leigh Halfpenny the fullback for Wales for the longest time have joined on with Crusaders. It will be interesting to see how much game time they get. Matera was still relatively young when he joined.
Think halfpenny could play a bit of flyhalf. We are very short with Burke out for most of the season
Panasonic 65GZ1000, Onkyo RZ730, Atmos 5.1.2, AppleTV 4K, Nest Mini's, PS5, PS3, MacbookPro, iPad Pro, Apple watch SE2, iPhone 15+

He was asked that during an interview, and said whilst he prefers half-back is open to trying a new position. Just happy to put on the Red and Black Jersey, whatever position he is required in.
Given what we have lost in experience, and injuries, and new coaching setup, it's going to be a miracle if we are top tier this season.
we need to learn this skill

I was surprised by how poor the Black Ferns were against England. They missed an in incredible number of pretty basic tackles, but on the other hand made quite a few dominant tackles. England were making the advantage line fairly easily.
The English forwards are absolutely massive, and with that big of a size difference, it will be a challenge, but most of the tackles I watched us fall off in the first half weren't really tackles not made due to the size.
England put us under pressure massively, we need to find a way to relieve pressure.
I think we can safely say this is an actual problem now, and not just something that is covered by an unpublicised rule change and hence not worth talking about.

An obviously poor TMO decision at the time, given the two-phases rule. Even ignoring the try, the amount of Kolisi's yellow-card time that was eaten up during the lengthy judgement was game-affecting.
In the end though, South Africa were the winners, despite them being arguably the poorer team on the field in each of their final three games - it just goes to show that team discipline and accurate place-kicking will almost always make the difference when matches are close.

Except if the knock-on was spotted by the ref then the try would not have happened either. We lost, lets get over it.

So you implying then that South Africa were the poorer team on the field despite their better discipline and accurate kicking? Can't say I agree with you. You can't win a world cup with bad discipline, and poor kicking.

And it wasn't. He missed loads of other stuff too. But that isn't the actual problem. The problem is the TMO going beyond the scope of their powers to intervene in a way that the rules specifically did not allow for.
Yes, we lost the game. But what is the point of having any rules at all if the officials won't even follow them?
"We lost get over it" is getting tiresome. Some of us would like some assurances we won't get to the final again only to be knobbled by similarly unacceptable displays.

Dont let the aussies get to you mate ;-p.
It wasnt the one error, it was the 4 of them plus not calling free kick for that grub Faf not feeding the scrum at the end to wind the clock deliberately to eat enough time off the clock to ensure a kick into touch would win it. You should be expecting that as a ref, especially from Sa.

This is probably also something that needs revisiting. The clock should probably go back to when the offenses are actually committed. Otherwise there's just lost game-time and it adds up when you have that level of TMO intervention and walking back play so frequently.

Rugby needs less rules/interference, not more. Otherwise we just adding to the problem.

What extra rule is being created by resetting the clock back to the point at which a penalty was found? The whole game has been reset, why shouldn't the clock be wound back also?
Also I have managed to avoid using the phrase 'THE BIG DANCE' for 24 hours in conversation. Nature is healing itself.
So Rugby Australia are in turmoil with McClennan forcing an EGM and a show of hands to eject him.
Timing also looks to be an issue with Waratahs having handed the reigns to ARU as part of a centralization plan, and Rebels about to do to the same in Jan 2024.
ARU have themselves in a right pickle. I think there are a lot of people there who want what's best for Rugby in Australia, but there are a lot of powerful people all with conflicting views.
