De Groot was out of control in the scrum most of the match. The scrum was fairly poorly officiated, he should have been penalized 3-4 times for going around the ouside and standing up instead of pushing through. Both setpieces were really ragged all match, New Zealand had the dominant scrum and lacked the control to exploit it and the lineout was poor.

I really was expecting more, it wasn't a very convincing platform.

Maybe a few more Blues would have made the difference.

Outside of your delicious saltiness Tu'ungafasi was excellent when he came on. He stayed completely square and just monstered Dan Cole

Wales Australia wasn't a great watch, but Australia look pretty good relatively.  I can see if they can continue the momentum, we could see stronger international performances and more consistentency.

Ireland v SA was a pretty boring watch. Why didn't Ireland come down here and play that badly? The scoreline really didn't show how much better SA was for the vast majority of the match. Ireland were error prone and lacked the intensity of the Irish sides of the last 3 or so years. SA were on a tear.

I will admit that Perofeta surprised me with his great footwork. He obviously isn't the finished product, but there is some decent potential there.

Dmac, well, he did Dmac things, some great things, and occasional pretty average things. I'll be interested to see what Razer can get out of him.

We really need our tens to do a better job of kicking in play, in fact overall, NZ's game is still lacking decent kicking options in play.

I'd take Cane over Papa'ili every day of the week for his dominant tackling.  Dalton has fine skills, but tackling as well as Cane isn't one of them.

Nearly 40% of the game was spent in England’s 22 compared to 19% in New Zealand’s 22 and New Zealand won by squeezing England into mistakes with kicking. There’s plenty of things to work on but kicking was far from New Zealand’s biggest problem.

It was only boring if you want to watch razzle dazzle. If you want to watch two of the best teams in the world punch and counter punch it was a great game to watch.

Ireland had poor opposition in New Zealand and played the best team in the world in South Africa. It’s about that simple.

England Argentina was a great game to watch in RWC 2023, it was incredibly tactical and interesting. Not a lot of RD in that one.

Ireland was fairly consistently great over the prior 3 years and nothing like they were against SA last weekend. Errors and Poor decisions and pretty low intensity compared to prior years.

I don't need razzle dazzle to enjoy a match, but good for you if you enjoyed that, am I allowed to not?

Think what you like. It’s your opinion.

I’ll think and say what I like. If you don’t like what I say such is life.

Juian Savea's first game highlights turned up on YT shorts tonight.

He really was an exceptional player, and to be honest, I thought he could have eclipsed Jonah, he seemed like he was peaking and then he just fell off a cliff. It was so sudden and so sharp.

Such a shame. At least he got to surpass Israel Folau as top try scorer in Super Rugby.

One change from the team that played last week, forced by injury.

My brain tells me we will be significanty better than last week and the English are at the end of the season, and possibly won't have as much improvement in them as we potentially would.

My heart knows anything could happen.

If the ABs respond to England's rush defense with repeated chip and chase (organised, well executed chasing), and other over-top tactics, we will unravel their game plan and wear them out.

We should also be bit more patient, a few pick and goes, changing the point of attack to soak up a few defenders, then unleash the more expansive play.

The above will wear them down and we'll run riot in the last 20.

Wing Commander Furbank is out with injury, Freddie Steward is his replacement. That’ll make England quite a bit better in the air and make their counter attack much weaker.

I haven't watched England play much recently, but Freddie Stewart was on some kind of tear scoring tries for a while there.

I don't feel overly relieved when they swapped one decent full back for another ;)

Better but still not great by the AB's. We still had many periods where we seem confused and disorganized.

Did anyone else notice how quickly we scored after Reiko left the field? ;)

Perofetas feet impressed again, but he lacks the kicking prowess of other fullbacks. I still miss Daggs booming foot for giving us additional territory. Jordie was better in that regard, but he wasn't a fantastic fullback in other areas.

England really struggled with the pace and it's frustrating when the referee lets teams get away with slowing down play.

Ireland vs SA.

Now THAT was a test match. One of the best I've seen in a very long time. THAT is what two good teams punching and counterpunching should look like. Significantly more intensity by Ireland, and less unforced errors made for a game that was much better to watch and less one-sided.

Again, SA slowing the match down, but hard to feel sympathy after watching Ireland come down here and do the exact same thing.

It was quite the finish and a lot of blood was spilled.
