Handle9: Speaking of farces another crusaders player has been called up. That’s been going so well, why not carry on with it.

Robertson is doing a great job of showing he’s a coach for the whole country.

Whilst your outrage is delicious (Obviously 0 Crusaders is too many, Rah! get off my lawn yawn), that particular call up does seem a bit strange. I'd suggest zero chance he plays and they might be simply wanting as many players to get some exposure to the AB's environment as a nod to the future.

Out of interest, if you were looking long term, is there some other option you'd have called up instead, who plays Wing, Center and Fullback?

Narawa, Nanai-Seturo or Sullivan.

Zarn Sulivan I assume you mean. He would be an intruging choice considering he can play 10 (I've watched him play 10 well a number of times).

I haven't seen the three you mention play much this year, are they in good form?

What does it matter? You can play like pants for the Crusaders and still get picked while Narawa gets axed after 20 minutes of rugby.

Rolleston under 12s must be getting nervous they'll lose the bulk of their starting line-up at this rate.

Fihaki played like Pants for the Crusaders? You watched different games to me. He has been good in a losing team ravaged by injuries and a new coaching staff, and his form has continued through to NPC. To be fair, when I think of fullback cover there are a few names that pop into mind, though whilst I have watched Canterbury NPC, I haven't watched much else and so I am not really sure what kind of ongoing form those names are in presently.

I do have to wonder what you think Scott Robertson would gain by 'filling' the team with Crusaders? Do you think his mission is to tank the AB's ? What would he gain by bringing in players who aren't going to do the job?

Which Crusaders specifically aren't doing their job and should be dropped? Any other players from any other teams, or is it just the Crusaders letting the country down?

Aren’t they all on the management team?

Here's a question for you: Has any Crusader player ever had a bad game or made a mistake ever?

If you get into trouble at your local pool and there's no one else around, you're going to be mighty disappointed when you realise they don't walk on water.

Too funny.

A far more relevant question is, is there a Crusader anywhere that has ever done anything good for anyone, or for NZ Rugby? If someone stubbed their toe in China 1000 years ago, can someone here find a way to blame it on a Crusaders player or coach?

When was the last time a Blues supporter had anything negative to say about Blues player? If a Blues player has a less than stellar game, it's a Crusaders coach or players fault.

It would appear not

A lot is being made of the Aussie second half. I don't see it being a case of grit and determination, there was a little, but far less than what is being talked about. The AB's went missing entirely in the second half allowing the Wallabies into the game. Had we of continued playing the way we did for the first 40, I think the scoreline would have been very different. As it was with a pretty awful second half, we could have finished with 20 points on them. We let in a couple of pretty inexcusable tries IMO.  Schmidt was pretty honest when he said they were lucky to get away with the scoreline they did.

I am seriously hoping we can put this Wellington hoodoo behind us.  Obviously, like most Kiwi's I'd really like to see an 80 minute performance.

I really couldn’t care less about the result on Saturday. It really really doesn’t matter. They have won the Bledisloe and aren’t winning the rugby championship.

What I do care about is cleaning up the restarts and exits, looking like there’s a plan for how the substitutions get used and showing intent and composure through the whole game. If they do that they’ll likely win by quite a bit but it doesn’t matter. Progressing the performance and being connected is far more important than the result.

The end of year tour is even more so about progress not results. If we win the England and France games that’d be nice but I’m not concerned about the results. It’s about progress, which really hasn’t been evident in the rugby championship.

For all their flaws the Foster All Blacks looked connected and together for their last 18 months. It’s most of the battle. If you play the wrong tactics with intent and common purpose you’ll beat most teams who aren’t together but are playing the best tactics.

The Robertson All Blacks haven’t looked anything like that yet.

Yup wholeheartedly agree with this. There is a lack of connection, and something seems to go sideways about the 50 minute mark. It's notable and quite odd.

Personally, I'd like to see us get better territory off kicks but right now I'd settle for an 80 minute performance where we are 'OK' for 80 rather than brilliant for 40 and terrible for 40.

Woot!

Leicester Fainga’anuku is returning to New Zealand next July after a stint with French club Toulon.
Fainga’anuku’s return is set to be confirmed on Thursday.
It’s understood the utility back has signed with New Zealand Rugby and the Crusaders through 2027.

I was being serious when I said there are Plumbtree and Moarr vibes about this team. They don't appear entirely to buy what all the coaches are selling.

It'll be interesting to see what leaks out of the end of season review.
